I couldn't care less about St Georges Day, I haven't felt patriotic in a very long time either. St George's Day celebrations if you can actually find any have a tendency to bring out a yobbish element as well and IMO do no favours for the stereotype.

If I ask you what you on the spot what there was to be proud about being English the vast majority would struggle to come up with an educated answer. I suppose all those who are feeling this deep seeded bout of national pride which coincides with the Cardiff game will all be tuning into for the Royal Wedding with tears in their eyes as well....yeah thought not!!!!!

I find most people who bang on about St Georges day are just jealous of the Paddy's anyway and just want an excuse for their own 'National **** Up Day'.

So tell me what is there to be proud about being English in modern times, I'm struggling to come up with something?

However, I can give you many a reason as to why I'm proud to be Rangers.....

Interesting poll, however, you should only be asking English people to vote. Obviously the Irish, Welsh, Scottish, American, Aussie QPR fans couldnt give a hoot about St George's Day. I'm a great believer in what goes around comes around, we all remember the fiasco about the play off final and the National Anthem. The welsh had their day in the sun in their own backyard, it's our turn to return the favour! (in their backyard!)
I'm English and very proud, i celebrate every year and this year it just so happens to fall on a Saturday, for a very important game, live on TV.
If this game wasnt on St Georges Day, i guarantee our 'English songs and English pride' would be the same as on St Georges Day!
It's QPR's and England's Day and our mentallity shouldnt be celebrating St Georges Day just to wind up the Welsh.

        Bring it on !

Quite happy to go to a riss up on St Georges Day but that is as far as it goes. No interest in St Georges Day. Nationalism is old fashioned for want of a better phrase. Nationality just does not matter beyond using it as a fun element.

Our history is at times shameful, we have a corrupt political system and to be frank most of the people are not that intelligent and are quite happy to think what the Sun or Mail tells them to think.

Love living in the country and would not be anywhere else but I am just another human being who just happened to be born here.

Why do you assume our International fans have slewed the results that much, I'd say this poll seems to reflect society pretty well.

QPR is a community, I've met fans from Germany, Scandinavia, Scotland and Ireland. By turning winning the title at Cardiff into to some soppy opportunity to wind up the Welsh for me alienates these fans. Why, oh why people make such a big deal of a few Welsh teams playing in the English leagues is beyond me they are as much a part of the furniture as we are. Our gripe is with the English FA for not ensuring that they fall under their authority.

These are all the things that represent England these days as I see it unfortunately.
Except that the mixed culture we have still look to their roots too. Many Indians and Pakistanis support their country of ancestry in the cricket against England. The Poles are very loyal to their country in football.

Nowt wrong with celebrating St George's day and the fact that it is when we play those welsh munkeys is a great chance to celebrate and ram it down their throats!

Why do English people always have to turn everything into a political debate. You can celebrate St George's day on St George's Day without it somehow detracting from being a fan of your club.

Some of those that are suggesting we should not are probably not even going to be there.

Have absoultely no problem with people being proud of England and waving their flags but remember not all us hoops are English. Having Irish parents i have never once celebrated St Georges day for the fact i have never felt or been accepted as being English. Personally i feel St Patricks day is far more inclusive, everyones a paddy that day and its a good ol tear up, dont get that feeling on St Georges day, feels more intimidating. Thats just my perosnal view and i feel much more should be made of St Georges day.

Also anything to wind up Cardiff is fine with me, still have scars from that day at the millenium.

Reality is we don't, because you always get some far left winger going to councils to get bans on flags, in other cases its seen as ovehyping our heritage, by the very people who can celebrate there own religion or historic backgrounds, in some cases every week of the year without anyone battoning an eyelid
IMO If we had a march thru london in the same way they did on ST Patricks day, it would be probably be classsed as an EDL march by the police.

I had a bad experience where I had a guy that was build like a brick sh it house drunk saying to me and my mate who were minding our own business if we were proud to be english. I just looked at him and said no.

Yes I should of realised he would then proceed with trying to rip my head off but he ended up making a complete idiot of himself. I support the england football team but I am just being honest that on st georges day its the same as every other day.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Jeffro no mate, I think it would of been like punching a patio slab.

The guy I think was a chel sea fan but a gypsey type so didn't really want to get involved mate but thats your typical proud to be english yobo that I gave a straight honest answer too.
