  • For those that stayed in Barnsley last night...

That was a poor excuse for nightlife in the town eh?? I realise that it was a tuesday night but i expected a bit more.

I was all excited after seeing the boys win thinking that we could hit the town all night & get plastered, so we started off in the walkabout after which had about 30 or so rangers in (all in good spirits) and then they called last orders at 11.

We then 'chanced' trying to get into chicargos as it was open til 2 - yes we knew what sort of night it was in there but i wanted another beer and we were told that it would have more straight people in it than Gay but we even got refused entry into there - blanked from a gay night!!! (not that im a homophobe)

Did anyone else end up in the place before the match called the metrodome.....that was unreal i was expecting some big complex with restaurants and bars....it was a bloody swimming pool with a bar - who ever mentioned going there needs a slap...i must admit it was sureal/odd/funny (delete as applicable) having a beer in a swimming pool complex.

Anyway least we won and just for anyone elses info if we ever have to go up there again i would suggest staying in Sheffield.

what did the others who stayed think??

    You R's !!!
Thank **ck thats all over with !!! need a holiday!!!

        Mate,

It was in the words.. 'staying in Barnsley for the night'. Me and my mate went into the Walkabout after the game too. Fortunately we were staying in Sheffield so went back when the Walkabout closed. I'd have thought Chicagos would have been more welcoming of the extra crowd..

Top night in Sheffield as it was student night so cheap as chips. We went into Krystals nightclub, and a few more QPR fans were in there. Once in there, I spotted Kyle Walker and obviously went over and had a word. I asked him why he left and if it was more money and he just said "he enjoyed his time at QPR but the decision to leave was purely football. Bigger club and better players. And the fact hes in the squad for England proved it for him." Decent lad but didn't show too much loyalty in conversation considering he was at QPR for 4 months. Although I think hes our best young player of the year (without the award), I do hope Villa go down.

We ended up in Spearmint Rhino after and had a good laugh with Marcus Bent. He was in there with a few Sheff Utd players. He said he was a Shepherds Bush lad and asked how QPR got on. When I asked him about Gemma Atkinson, he went all quiet..lol. I offered him a chance to play in my football team in June but told him that he'd only be used as a squad player...Top bloke actually.

All in all, a good result and top night!!! Roll on Cardiff away...

Sounds like a great night, can I ask though, how did you get into the student places? (unless you're a student)

Cardiff night life is quality if you're staying here for the night, but prices on a saturday, like the ques, are big! (well I'm used to student price drinks). You'd probably see Bellamy down chippy lane here as well, wind him up, take a smack and sue his ####, thats what we wanna do anyway.

and about Kyle Walker, he's hardly going to say he left for money when you asked him the question, and his wages this season would have been the same anyway, paid probably by spurs.

I bet Sheff Utd fans were happy to see their players having a night out after another defeat which is pushing them closer to relegation!

Nah not a student, just told the bouncers I was there for the night after finishing work. Worst they could have said is no.

Walker said his wages are the same cause its from Spurs. I was just trying to make the point, that loyalty counts for nothing. Don't blame him cause hes in the premiership and obviously now involved with England, just after being with us for 4 months and having the option to stay for the season and get promoted with us (obviously from a fans view). He did say he'd get a promotion medal anyway.

Marcus Bent took it well. There was about 6 players out and with the girls all around them, they didn't seem too bothered about relegration. To be honest, I wouldn't have been if you had seen these girls..

Forgot to mention, £5 for 3 bottles of Stella in Spearmint and always, 2 dances for 1.. o yes!!

And yeah, that was me in the yellow t-shirt... Sutton, were you in Krystals??

Agree with w12, I mean a tues night in Barnsley? Come on lads lets drink less and use a little common sense.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Classic that place, some guy in the toilet said to me and another r's fan
'are you rangers', Yeah we replied, he said 'so am i' then turned round and walked out, so surreal. Had a junior R's hat on (although wasn't),
probably from the last time he went.

Suppose gotta get used to that.
