  • No parade for QPR if we go up........?

If you're not aware the company that cleans the streets of Hammersmith and Fulham on behalf of the council is SERCO. NOw I was told this morning by someone who works for them that should Rangers go up there will not be a parade around the streets of the borough because SERCO have asked Rangers to pay £6,000 to cover the cleaning costs. Rangers refused again when SERCO said they would do it for £4,000. As a result of this there will be no parade.

Now I find this hard to believe, but in some ways I don't.

Can anyone from the club confirm this?

If needs be, I am sure all Rangers fans will have a whip round to cover the 4 grand for the cleaning costs.

Also, due to cut backs at the council I don't think the mayor will host a party for the fans at the town hall like we had when we went up from League One.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the person who told me this would have no reason to be on a wind up or anything.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

If true i for one would be very disappointed. I would happily contribute to a whip round. 4,000 fans paying £1-00 wouldn't be too taxing. If we go up i intend to enjoy every opportunity to celebrate !

13k fans .50p does the trick, if true the club sometimes has to look at itself.

What if we promise not to make any mess? I always take my pack lunch to QPR in my Rowan Vine rucksack and take my crisp packet, kitkat wrapper, banana skin, sandwich crusts and Um bungo cartoon home with me anyway. Were not litter bugs.

These are businessmen, they will always haggle the price of anything they do
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

How much does Serco ask those ******s dressed up as students or those civil servants who had never had it so good to contribute to cover the clean up after their public whinges. Disguise the parade as a public whinge about the tories and some union bod will fund it for us.

so qpr don't pay "rates" in the borough??

absolute crap...why would qpr pay for the mayor inviting them to the town hall???
private refuse companies wanting to cash in...

also heard a rumour, but different reasons, i:e the police bill, closure of roads, the route etc figure banded around 500k

Take this with a MASSIVE pinch of salt.

If we go up, there will be a parade. The negative PR of Ecclestone saying no for the tune of £6k will be too great for them to bear. But remember in addition to street cleaning costs, there are also police/public order costs.
