Some people have to get real.

Say we get a points deduction, that will be appealed, the bloody premiership fixtures will be done by the time thats done!! We would have been presented with the Football League trophy..too. All clubs in the championship would have to re-do any Play Offs..

Come on guys, if anything the delay in any decision cements the idea of a fine to the club not the other way around.
I admit I'm with you on this but the one thing which no body has clarified is that whether we can actually appeal the decision depending on what it is.

An independent panel sounds more like a court of arbitration who's decision is final...I'm not a legal eagle but why does it require an independent panel not a decision from the FA direct?

I'm not liking the situation one little bit. Its a shame we have a great season tarnished with this and it can only happen at Rangers.

The fact, the FA have not brought the case forward which they could have easily have done, indicates stronger than ever they are trying to get a few pennies into the FA coffers.

The logistics of this case no-one really understands, but to think they could prevent us from getting promoted is madness..Really it is.

After the decision, we are allowed to appeal. The football league cannot stand still whilst that process takes place, the fixtures have to come out for each league in June, the Play Offs would have already been played. Clubs will know where they are for next season.

Points deduction is now not an option

You can certainly appeal any decision made.

The FA are only a governing body.

An Independent tribunal panel do not have final jurisdiction, it can go on and on further up the line to other courts

So does that mean we can take them to court?

              1) Decision is due on 6th. Doesn't mean it will be as we all know court cases drag
              2) If decision is made....you normally then wait for sentance, don't you? It's not imediate
              3) What is appeal process? Does it mean, we get points deducted....we appeal, points reinstated until appeal process finished??
              4) we get deducted points, end up in playoffs......team in 7th is going to sue FA...why X points and not X + 5 so we get in. What was basis for the number of points?
If we get massive points deduction.....relegated teams could use same argument.
              Will they relegate us?
              5) Have FA ever mentioned points deduction? Some go on about only "local rags" have said only fine etc. but nationals have said range of punishments from nothing to points deduction. FA have said nothing.
              6) Warnock seemed very confident (just seen his post match interview)

I know it's bloody typical rangers but I think we should just forget about it, enjoy last few games and have a bloody good old drink after the game that sees us up....we can then have another one after we hear the result of the court case!
The Problem is the outcome is on 6th May 24Hrs before we play Leeds, are you telling me that if we get a points deduction its going to affect the other teams and I cannot see that happening, The most I can see is a fine of no more the the pot for winning the league, I have a friend who works in the F.A and they say that this is not a serious matter otherwise we would have found out sooner rather than later, Also why did the Football league Pass this to the F.A as there is no case to be heard, The F.L knew about Ali and did nothing, If we were guilty then we would have been told not to play Ali but the registration went thru without a hitch in Oct and was rubber stamped by the F.L, I believe that this is bully boy tacticts to warn off other Clubs
The F.A has to take a stance on this but no points deduction can be given out, Like other posters say if we end up in 6th place with points taken off then other teams will try and sue the F.L asnd also the F.A
So we will wait until the outcome and celebrate anyway because I believe the Case will only offer a fine and nothing else, The only teams who want points taken off are the teams that cannot catch us, Norwich want us to lose points so that they can go up as Champions but I would feel cheated if we were it were on the other foot, would you be happy being champions on a technicallity

It won't go that far...It could go to high courts and all that, but doubt it will

We will get fined, probably pay it.

i am not sure how you can be so confident pete mate?

as other posters have said i was on cloud 9 lat night after that performance...

now this hearing has been announced - cannot relax until an outcome...

1 other question why is it going to take 3 days for the outcome... must be a lot to discuss....

If the case was as serious as some think, if I owned Norwich, Cardiff or Swansea I will be up at arms already.

The fact no team has even uttered a word indicates they also know it will be a fine only.

Its just a real shame the FA can't tell us the fans, thats what it will be

                        Loneranger80

its the same reaction we had when the news first broke.

In a few days fans will go back to hopefully enjoying the rest of the season.

To settle all this, the FA should simply say if found guilty these are the consequences, would be fairer on the fans.

End of the day we are pawns in all this and neither the club or the FA really care too much. Thats sad, but thats modern day football

Pete you can't ignore the fact, that a few days ago you told us all that you believe 6 of the 7 charges have been dropped. Thats just not the case so I don't think anyone will rest until the Fa tell us the punishment.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Pete, taken from BBC Sport on 10th March -

QPR face points deduction by FA before end of season
                              By Matt Slater
                              BBC sports news reporter

Faurlin was owned by three Argentine agents when he joined QPR in 2009
Queens Park Rangers could be docked points before the end of the season as the Football Association wants to avoid any doubt over who is promoted.

On Wednesday the FA hit QPR with seven charges relating to the initial deal arising from the Argentine's ownership.

The FA is now waiting for the club to respond to the charges but will push for the earliest possible hearing.

QPR are expected to ask for more time to respond to the charges - they range from a failure to notify the FA of Faurlin's ownership to the use of an unauthorised agent in the transfer from Argentine club Instituto de Cordoba - and a brief extension is likely to be granted.

But the FA is acutely aware of the need for clarity as the Championship season comes to a boil and its financial regulation unit and legal team will seek a rapid resolution to the case.

It is expected the case will eventually be heard by a three-man panel, chaired by a QC with financial expertise.

The panel will have wide-ranging powers at its disposal, including the deduction of points and the imposition of heavy fines. Luton Town, for example, were deducted 10 points in 2008 for using unlicensed agents.

(To be fair Luton, and their individual board members were found guilty of 40 out of 56 charges involving 3 players)

So it HAS been mentioned that Points deduction is an option, if not officially by the FA. Sky & Most Nationals have said similar.
Clearly there are many previous 'similarities' (West Ham, Chelsea, Tottenham, Swindon, Luton, Leeds & Bristol City), but little or no consistancy for a precedent, so any official FA line would have to be pretty vagues encompassing all the above 'potential' precedents. (Massive fine, Transfer embargo/ban, small points deduction, relegation or not promoted, big points deduction, small fine and slap on wrist).

For all the thoughts that FA don't want a long running appeal, or can't afford one, they also have to consider the knock on effect if they don't act accordingly. ie. Private lawsuits from those missing out on Promotion, Playoffs, etc.

That, said, I REALLY hope your right, but that we keep winning to keep a more than healthy points distance between us and 2nd, or 3rd.

Pete, nothing personnal but i stopped believing every word you said after the Ched Evans affair. You leave yourself wide open for critisism when you come out with statements like you have above.

YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN SO STOP MAKING OUT LIKE YOU DO

There are a lot of very worried QPR fans out there. Our greatest season in donkeys years, our team have shown amazing consistency all season and we are on the verge of getting where we never thought we'd be in our wildest dreams and it could all go t its up because of some shoddy business deal.

                                The whole thing stinks
