  • The FA's recent punishments

Right my one main concern is this:
Recently the FA have been hard ball.
    1) A 5 game ban on someone they previously wouldn't have touched; Alex Ferguson
    2) An immediate 2 game ban on golden boy Rooney
    3) The biggest club in the country getting bossed left right and centre currently.

So the FA are now showing that they aren't afraid to upset anyone.
This all in line with the resurrection of their "Respect" campaign.

I pray that they don't decide to use us as one final precident, to warn anyone NOT to mess with them ongoing, and whack us big time with points.

All of a sudden this seems very worrying once again.
6/7 charges to be dropped?? Nope.
As someone else said, if we are trying to call their bluff by string it out till May 6th thinking that they wouldn't dock points that far down the line, it's a dangerous game.
Maybe someone from the club should get one of the last brown envelopes from Paladinis draw and use it wisely to the 3 man panel.

The FA's recent no nonsense approach is a very real concern. If the decision is to be a points deduction it seems very sinisiter to leave it until the last game of the season to impose it. Unless of course the points deducted is just a token gesture ie 3-6 points we still win the league.

        True but
        1) Decision is due on 6th. Doesn't mean it will be as we all know court cases drag
        2) If decision is made....you normally then wait for sentance, don't you? It's not imediate
        3) What is appeal process? Does it mean, we get points deducted....we appeal, points reinstated until appeal process finished??
        4) we get deducted points, end up in playoffs......team in 7th is going to sue FA...why X points and not X + 5 so we get in. What was basis for the number of points?
If we get massive points deduction.....relegated teams could use same argument.
        Will they relegate us?
        5) Have FA ever mentioned points deduction? Some go on about only "local rags" have said only fine etc. but nationals have said range of punishments from nothing to points deduction. FA have said nothing.
        6) Warnock seemed very confident (just seen his post match interview)

I know it's bloody typical rangers but I think we should just forget about it, enjoy last few games and have a bloody good old drink after the game that sees us up....we can then have another one after we hear the result of the court case!

They made those decisions very quickly..

Please tell me what justifies a points deduction even in your wildest dreams?

              Missing my point Pete.
I'm simply saying that the FA can be complete a rses and also bottle jobs. Anything is possible.
Would you put it past these numnuts to dock points, I wouldn't.
Even if we don't deserve it.
Whether you like it or not, currently the FA fancy themselves and are trying to make a name and gain respect.

Alex Ferguson already had a suspended 2-match touchline ban hanging over his head, which was invoked when he crossed the line again.
The ban on Rooney probably has a lot to do with the recent outcry when he got off lightly for the elbow incident.
Those punishments are in line with the crimes. Points deductions are almost always for unregistered players or going into administration, which implies that the club has had on on-the-pitch advantage due to spending money they don't have. Neither of those apply to us.
The most recent case which bore any resemblance to ours was Showumni's transfer/registration -- that case resulted in a relatively small fine and no points deduction. FA won't want to do anything which could result in a long-drawn out appeal which could impact on promotion or the play-offs, and cost them money which they don't have. It's in their interest to give us an insignificant points deduction (if any), and make a quick buck out of us with a fine.
                Hopefully??

I have not read anything to say from the FA themselves are even considering a points deduction.

                          Maybe I missed the link?

Some people have to get real.

Say we get a points deduction, that will be appealed, the bloody premiership fixtures will be done by the time thats done!! We would have been presented with the Football League trophy..too. All clubs in the championship would have to re-do any Play Offs..

Come on guys, if anything the delay in any decision cements the idea of a fine to the club not the other way around.

I hope you are right Pete. I just don't trust the FA that's all. You on the other hand obviously feel they are a perfectly fair and considerate governing body.
