  • Hill: No complacency here

Posted on: Mon 04 Apr 2011

Clint Hill insists the R's have plenty of work to do before they can even think about promotion to the Premier League.

The R's host Sheffield United at Loftus Road tonight knowing victory would see them move 13 points clear of third-placed Cardiff City with just seven games remaining.

But the experienced full back insists he and his team-mates aren't getting carried away.

"We are ten points clear of third but you can lose nine points in a week in this division, so we know what we need to do," he told www.qpr.co.uk. "Nobody is counting their chickens here."

The Blades arrive in London having recorded impressive wins over Nottingham Forest and Leeds in recent weeks, and fighting for their Championship lives.

"Sheffield United have picked up recently and got a couple of good results so they will come here feeling confident," Hill adds.

"We know what they are like and we are going to have to be on top form. If you are not on top form in this league, then you are going to suffer knock-backs."

Rangers have only lost four league games so far this season, creating a real buzz in the dressing room. However, Hill insists that chemistry was evident before a ball had even been kicked this term.

"There has always been a buzz with the lads here, ever since pre-season," says the man who swapped south London for west London when he signed on a free transfer in the summer from Crystal Palace.

"There is a great blend of experience, youth, and talent as well. Things are going quite well for us at the moment and hopefully we can keep that up and get ourselves across the finish line.

"We know what we need to do, we need to finish in the top two. It's as simple as that. We can't help what the Press say or what other people say. We have to keep level-headed and keep doing what we have been doing to give ourselves the best chance of finishing in the automatic places.

"We have been there or thereabouts all season, and we know teams are going to raise their game against us. So if we're not at 100 per cent, it is going to be very tough. That's what the Championship is all about."

This is true but all i'll say is expect 2 points in the kitty before tomorrow morning.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
