  • QPR v Sheffield United

NEIL Warnock has blasted the fixture schedule ahead of QPR's first of two Monday night games as they bid to clinch promotion to the Premier League.

Rangers entertain Sheffield United this week and Warnock believes 10 points from the final eight games will be enough to seal their spot in the top flight next season.

But his confidence has not stopped him feeling annoyed that his side have two Monday night games coming up, which will give rivals a chance to steal a march on them and apply pressure.

"I don't think you should have more than one Monday game at this stage of the season," he said.

"Two consecutive home matches on Monday night television after the other teams have played doesn't do us any favours.

"Sometimes it backfires and teams playing on the Saturday slip up, but I can only see it putting a bit more pressure on our lads.

"That said, I think it's been beneficial having a couple of weeks off ahead of the final push. I think everyone's better for it."

There are no injury worries for Monday's game against Warnock's old club Sheffield United at Loftus Road, although Lee Cook's return for the reserves does not make it much likelier he will play for the first team this season.

Adel Taarabt is one certain change from the team that beat Doncaster 1-0 before the break with match winner Hogan Ephraim likely to stand down.

Why are you doing exactly what you complained about earlier Paul?

I have done what I said, posted the content to which the thread is based on and as some people like to know where it came from, I posted the link as well, which is actually the correct thing to do, as it is quoting the original source which in many cases, is the copyright owner.

To be honest, it's a pretty poor excuse. I'm as annoyed as any at the changes as I have to rush from work to see the games, but the players should be able to handle this. The two games we have on the Monday are both against poor sides. Add to that, we are the home side in both games. They are where they are for a reason, just as we are.

We've had pressure on us all season, and we've done fine. If we slip up at this stage of the season, it's no one's fault but our own. We've had a nice long break, so the players must be feeling fresh. They need to go out and prove a point by winning this one comfortably, as well as the Derby game.

No excuses, Neil. Send them out battling, and we will as good as secure promotion by the time we play Cardiff.

That's the best way to take the pressure off of us.

Agree Benny but i'll take a 1-0 win to be honest at this stage of the season.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
