1)Sir Les Ferdinand 2)Gerry Francis 3)stan bowls 4)rodney marsh and i'll have a think about the remainder.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Besides the obvious ones above, Dave Thomas, Don Givens and Phil Parkes spring to mind. Paul Furlong is a modern day legend. Alan MacDonald ought to feature too and I guess the likes of Paul Parker and Terry Fenwick get in due to England caps? I saw the team of 1969 play but, to be honest, I was a bit too young to see them as my heroes.
And if we are dealing with legendary status for an individual event, Dennis Bailey has to get a mention too.

I think a good place to start would be the team of 76 and then see if any better have filled their positions. Eg Parkes/Seaman? Clement/Bardsley? Gillard/Wilson?
