So many England managers have thought that........ and failed, but with so called 2nd team players on Tuesday night, in the first half they played with shape and balance and they looked superb. The moral of the story: Play players in their most effective positions and not play them anywhere for the sake of it.

Something England have been guilty of for years.

Let's pick three CM's in Gerrard,Lampard and Beckham and play at least one out of position.

We won't sign him as we don't need him and can't afford him.
Great point made. We will only need a squad of 11 in the prem.. 1 player for each position

He is a top top player and personally i'm surprised he's not had more game time at Spurs. Showed his class recently with 2 games and two stunning winning goals.

Can't see it coming off but he would be superb and we would make room for him and Tarbs no problem... Niko or Smith... no brainer!

Ref wages, i don't know what he's on, but you never know, being Croation, i doubt his demands would have been that excessive in the past, so he's probably on a lot less than far worse players in the Prem. Always remember hearing that the national manager Bilic was on about £100k / year or something and that was when his stock was high having knocked us out of the Euro qualifiers so he could have jumped ship for massive money if he wanted but didn't.

I agree with most of what has been said, would be a top top signing but probably out of our reach even when we go up.
