  • IDEA... How about the club do something like this...

I think we are all aware that prices will go up next season if (WHEN) we reach the Premiership, but I think it would be great if the club actually did something like this to reward the fans. Making it to the promised land will be great but staying there will be the clubs aim based on our previous spending so far, so how about the board doing something like this?

    Using the current Adult pricing
Platinum £699 goes up to £899 (£200 increase)
Gold £599 goes up to £774 (£150 increase)
Silver £525 goes up to £675 (£150 increase)
Bronze £450 goes up to £600 (£125 increase)

BUT THE ABOVE PRICES INCLUDES A FREE SEASON TICKET FOR THE 2012/2013 SEASON - WITH PREVIOUS SEASON TICKETS HOLDERS ALSO GETTING A FURTHER 2.5% OFF THE ABOVE NEW PRICES FOR THEIR LOYALITY?

How many people would be interested I wonder? I know it's a big old increase but I think we all know that's coming in some form.

Burnley did it. Would be a nice touch and they club wouldn't lose out too much. There will be new sponsorship deals flying in with the backers on our board. Season ticket money makes up only a tiny percentage of Premiership Clubs revenue bar the big guns. The above thing I have mentioned would guarantee big crowds if we bounce divisions and went back down next season.

Increase will be similar to that but without the free season ticket

I think its a bad idea - even with the promise of season tickets the following season people wont be able to afford those prices.

A lot of people are losing their jobs, a lot of households that 2 incomes are becoming 1 and finding that kind of increase will be to big.

The other fact is i know the prem is worth lots of money surving and in paracute payments, but giving away a whole season season tickets and then keeping the prices that high is not commericaly a good move. Forget we have rich owners most of the money received will go on players and wages and giving away that amount oif money will hit the cash flow of the business, but if we got relagated and didnt have a good season the following year, how many people would renew. This type of promotion to be will lonly put us back were we have just come.

Best way they can repay me for having a season ticket for the 20 years, easy keep the prices at a reasonable level that will allow me to watch the games with all my freinds i have made over the years, e.g. 10% increase. Not only that if we got relagated they could keep the prices the same and hopefuly alot of people will also renew.

There has to be long term thinking here and not just short term gain for the few
One for all.... and all for one

The club know demand will massively outweigh supply. Meaning they can charge the type of prices above as most tickets will get taken up in the Prem.

                it's the price of success.
if we go down to the third division tickets will be cheaper.

so measure it out, platinum, £900 over two seasons is £450, where the current price is £700 for a season, you think they'll take a £250 dive when they could easily make £200 up on the current price? I think this would be a lovely idea, for the fans, but as a general club which is looking to fire itself out of the red and into the black I think the rise in ticket prices should be expected & accepted, I think I am willing to consider myself lucky to be alive for another round (hopefuly a long and prestegious one too, but thats off topic) of premiership football for the R's, if we can establish ourselves, I don't think I mind paying the extra on the top, and it could be worse, Arsenal offer a lovely season ticket at £1,825 which I can safely say would mean I wouldn't grabbing a half time pie or chips, in fact, never really getting a take-away ever in my life, though I do enjoy the taste of baked beans and toast
QPR, remember that name, you'll be cursing it later
