Superb post and just what I was getting at.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

      what worries many of us
is qpr's record of cocking up in the past
watford away a few yrs back....tickets went on general sale, quietly
with 2 big away games and huge demand, many sitting on their PRECIOUS loyalty pts still wait for news.....
the club have not met the lsa or any other group bar the OSC, this season despite requests going back pre millwall home game!
      so poor relations.

i think the club has done nothing wrong, i remember beginning of the season where people were slagging off the club INCLUDING NW for lack of signings.

Many fans were posting they will not buy unless there are 3 or 4 or even 5 big names coming and some saying show me the money, i just hope some of these people are not moaning about the Leeds Tickets, but i bet there are quite a few.

I am not talking about the fans who cannot afford the ST any more but the ones moaning at lack of signings.

Anyway the biggest game for me is the game we are assured promotion and not the Leeds game as we will be untouchable before that game.

Ps started saving for my ST for next season fron Nov 2010

at the end of the day the capacity for home supporters is now only 16,000, with all the goodwill in the world there was always going be some disapointments
I must away now, I can no longer tarry

Then on sale to ST's - again 1 ticket each, this would stop the ST's just buying the max to bring thier mates along. Okay, your only reasonable point.

Then general sale, there would be some left over, say personal callers only.
Why personal callers only? So you would exclude people who for what ever reason live too far away to be able to get to the club during office hours. You would exclude the people that travel from Ireland or Norway and spend thousands every year getting to games?

By staggering the sale, the phones would not meltdown nor would the internet
So what, you think all the members wouldn't ring/go on line at once and cause the same meltdown? If the box office phone system can only handle 20 calls at once then that's it, regardless of who is calling!

I am confused as to how the club thought the way they did it was the fairest, clearly not. I'm confused as to how you think they didn't. People had enough warning that this was going to be a bun fight. Bottom line is, if you had a way of getting a ticket either through ST or membership, and you were determined enough to do it, you'd get one.
I heard someone moaning that they called every 15 minutes and couldn't get through! I had the phone to my ear for two hours non stop redialling, whilst working at the same time. I literally did not put the phone down. Christ knows how many times I called, but if you average it at once every 15 seconds thats 480 times over the two hours, not 8 as the moaner would have done. I got my tickets, he didn't.

They just made sure that the queue outside got thier tickets and restricted the phones & internet to the rest over a period of 6hrs, if they could have answered the phones, those outside would have been disappointed.
I'm guessing you live local seeing as you're only concearned with the people that qued up outside. Is my daughter, who is now at Uni in Plymouth, who makes it up for every home game less entitled to a ticket than someone who just lives round the corner because she couldn't be there on Friday?

The club are in an impossible position as there will always be someone complaining about the way things are done. Not everyone can afford season tickets, hence the reason they encouraged the membership. What they are doing is rewarding, the best they can, the people who stump up the cash at the start of each season. What's so wrong with that?
dont think its odd mate, what is odd is that the club wants to offer ST's 2 extra tickets, simply making sure not every Rangers will have a fair chance, 7500 ST's, thats 15000 possible requests to buy last Friday for only approx 8000 tickets available. Coupled with the membership (say 1000?) thats another 2000 tickets being sought maybe. The club could have ensured by selling 1 ticket each that EVERY SINGLE ST and MEMBER would get thier 1 ticket which surely is a fairer way.
If you cant see that then keep bloating on about ST's having preference as they stayed loyal, well i had an ST from 1979 to 2008, thats fairly loyal, when it hit £599 for a gold ticket behind the goal (? WTF!), i paid it the 1st year but decided i couldnt the 2nd year due to other commitments and monting debt. I then went to 20 that season and so far missed 3 this season all through other commitments, so again pretty loyal.
So surely as a member i should be fairly peed off that i didnt get a ticket despite ringing every single moment i had, i even spoke to the switchboard lady who kept saying dont worry, you will get through, i had a laptop which never made the queue either

Thats why some of us are fairly pissed off mate
