its one of the biggest game in hoops history, the club imho did all it could to make aware and encourage fans to get leeds tickets (put aside season ticket scheme), such as membership at £50 and then 1/2 yrly memberships (constantly advertised on the website) plus the 5 ticket bundle which for many months had the leeds game as the carrot. The bundles were about £100 but its a once in a generation game and most other fans of big clubs would bite your hand off if they were told that a fan with no membership or s/t could still be able to walk into the clubs biggest game for the last 15 years by simply purchasing a bundle. I've got mates who are gooners and are glad to get a ticket to see them in a carling cup 2nd round match on a tuesday night once every 5 yrs & wouldn't be moaning with our system. The fact that the clubs IT system appears to have crashed on friday is no surprise to anyone who is a regular at the club, on match day its takes 10 minutes getting into the ground so god knows what the IT system is like. What other major sporting fixture or entertainment event can one just phone up or e-mail and expect to guarantee a ticket, not many, & its no different to when the biggest club in london decides its about time we join the big boys again in the premiership.
The online ticketing issues are nothing new to me as the same system is used for buying our England tickets and despite us being guaranteed tickets it is an absolute pain having to go through anything connected with Ticketmaster
For the record I am still unsure why Season Ticket holders were allowed to buy two extra tickets for the game but yes I took advantage and I could help some felow fans out including some on here and the extra tickets I did get are being sold for Face Value only so for those whi are trying to put Season Ticket holders in a bad light please do not tar us all with the same brush
I am a regular supporter. Been a Member for a good few years, but didn't get one this year as I never actually needed my membership to get tickets.
So, I go to weekend games (work means evening are very hard to get to) and don't have a Leeds ticket.
But, I am not going to moan. ST and Members deserve to have first shout and I had plenty of opportunities to plan ahead, but I am not that organised!! :strive:
It is my own fault - I could have planned and got a ticket sown up. I am still going to get there though....don't have a ticket, but will get one.
Anyway, Hull will be even more exiciting as we will win promotion then!!!

Why is when the rest off us buy spare tickets for mates with our ST's we are denying proper fans and bringing gloryhunters to the match but when you do it, its different?
Any ST holder with any nous would have done the same, the mates you sorted like many of those on here whinging could not organise and sort themsleves just like the ones I sorted....makes them no less a QPR fan though!

I am not sure if you are agreeing with me or having a pop

A bit of both really, I think its more the way your allowed to be percieved as doing a favour when others get stick for doing the same thing (and you probably realise that). All this talk of fans profiting from tickets is outrageous I don't know anyone like that and I think it goes without saying that you sell your spares on at face value.

Yep I know where you are coming from as it seems that many from all over the various QPR messageboards who did not get a ticket are now sniping that season ticket holders could buy two extra
Some of these same fans moaning can be seen on the messageboards every saturday regardless if we are home or away and simply have not felt the need to watch us unless its a big game so I fail to see why they feel they earnt the right to a ticket
Harsh yes but its the same for those who want FA Cup Final tickets or to see The Who at the Shepherds Bush Empire its normaly who is on the ball and clued up how to get them who succeeds

Absolutely and whilst some deal with these fans more eloquently others are incensed at thier comments and tire off listening to their excuses so go straight for the jugular.
I have seen but a few who are prepared to hold their hands up and accept they didn't organise themselves properly, the rest just seem to want someone to blame.
Why no category which says "regular supporter, planned ahead, bought a 5 ticket bundle as it was as plain as day that there would be a huge demand for our biggest game for many a day?"
Casting my mind back to the start of last season I recall an awful lot of people saying they'd had enough and would not be renewing season tickets and plenty more (non ST holders) saying they would just be picking and choosing games from now on. A long debate ensued - some saying they would still go Rangers no matter how bad things got as it was their life (and similar coments) and others saying they were just bored with it, sick of it and had better things to do. Even at the start of this season - with Sir Neil of the Warnock in charge, a good pre-season and some decent signings (well some of us thought so) plenty still maintained that they would just pick and choose, that we would be lucky to get a top half finish, and with some of the rubbish we signed they didn't want to get fully involved. That's fair enough as everyone is entitled to their opinion and it's a free choice to give up S/Ts, pick the odd game or treat it like a religion regardless of the division and quality of the side.
Some of us who renewed without a second thought were really coated off for our decision - mugs we were or just plain stupid. We did also get a rough deal over some of the ticket deals and kids for a quid type deals (especially when we started paying a junior ticket price for a child under 8 because we didn't want to move downstairs to the family stand so they still got in for nowt).
Anyway, at the time, I gave all my reasons for why I was renewing - primarily because that's what our weekends are all about and we get to sit in our preferred seat every week - at the bottom of the list was the fact that one day, just maybe, it would come in handy for a big day like this and people just laughed at me

Spot on...must admit i was in two minds about renewing, but nearer it got to the cut off for earlybird, the more i got my desire back and renewed.
Plus the Warnock factor convinced me.
