Iv travelled home and away wiv a few mates for many years and recently two ov them got made redundant from the same factory,as you can imagine money is very tight and the problem we face at the moment ov having to buy a lot ov tkts up front to guareentee getting them has given them sleepless nights. As things stand they think they aint got tkts for the Leeds game and are gutted, seriously gutted to think they av gone through the bad times and are not going to see the best thing that has happened to our glorious club for many a year.My question to my fellow WATRB is "WHEN DO I TELL THEM I HAVE GOT THEM A TKT EACH"so they can join the party ? Dont worry this post wont give it away coz they dont look on her.

it could have been very easy for the club to sort out
members on sale 1st - 1 ticket each (you only buy 1 membership so why expect 2 tickets)
Then on sale to ST's - again 1 ticket each, this would stop the ST's just buying the max to bring thier mates along
Then general sale, there would be some left over, say personal callers only
By staggering the sale, the phones would not meltdown nor would the internet
I am confused as to how the club thought the way they did it was the fairest, clearly not.
They just made sure that the queue outside got thier tickets and restricted the phones & internet to the rest over a period of 6hrs, if they could have answered the phones, those outside would have been disappointed

Don't tell them until the day of the game. Just tell them you'll pick them up on the day of the game to take them to the pub, leave 2 envelopes in the car
addressed to them and enjoy their reaction.

not sure about the above. At the beginning of the season (when no fanfares & everyone expects another season of mediocraty) s/t holders were enticed to renew/buy s/t as part of a package of benefits (incl early bird plus first opportunity to buy extra tickets). S/t holders have been doing this for years at the loft with no real prospect of seeing a real big games (such as leeds) for many a year. Suddenly its a great season and everone wants to go to the leeds game and calls are made for a new unilateral system of members getting first preference and s/t then following with only one ticket. One cannot just change the rules because you think it fits now, otherwise part of the package of getting a s/t becomes less attractive. When we were s##t, s/t holders were still purchasing and you must as a club maintain a consistent and transparent approach when dealing with allocation of tickets and not get carried away with the hype that may be around one match because s/t holders are their for thw whole season and will continue to be.

Very odd thinking.
members on sale 1st - 1 ticket each (you only buy 1 membership so why expect 2 tickets) Why should someone who buys a membership at the last minute, perhaps having been to very few games all season, get priority over someone who pays upfront for every game, some of which they may not make, and funds the club in advance allowing them to pay wages etc?
Then on sale to ST's - again 1 ticket each, this would stop the ST's just buying the max to bring thier mates along. Okay, your only reasonable point.
Then general sale, there would be some left over, say personal callers only.
Why personal callers only? So you would exclude people who for what ever reason live too far away to be able to get to the club during office hours. You would exclude the people that travel from Ireland or Norway and spend thousands every year getting to games?
By staggering the sale, the phones would not meltdown nor would the internet
So what, you think all the members wouldn't ring/go on line at once and cause the same meltdown? If the box office phone system can only handle 20 calls at once then that's it, regardless of who is calling!
I am confused as to how the club thought the way they did it was the fairest, clearly not. I'm confused as to how you think they didn't. People had enough warning that this was going to be a bun fight. Bottom line is, if you had a way of getting a ticket either through ST or membership, and you were determined enough to do it, you'd get one.
I heard someone moaning that they called every 15 minutes and couldn't get through! I had the phone to my ear for two hours non stop redialling, whilst working at the same time. I literally did not put the phone down. Christ knows how many times I called, but if you average it at once every 15 seconds thats 480 times over the two hours, not 8 as the moaner would have done. I got my tickets, he didn't.
They just made sure that the queue outside got thier tickets and restricted the phones & internet to the rest over a period of 6hrs, if they could have answered the phones, those outside would have been disappointed.
I'm guessing you live local seeing as you're only concearned with the people that qued up outside. Is my daughter, who is now at Uni in Plymouth, who makes it up for every home game less entitled to a ticket than someone who just lives round the corner because she couldn't be there on Friday?
The club are in an impossible position as there will always be someone complaining about the way things are done. Not everyone can afford season tickets, hence the reason they encouraged the membership. What they are doing is rewarding, the best they can, the people who stump up the cash at the start of each season. What's so wrong with that?Fags n weed, glue n speed, but I draws the line at crack !

dtig I agree with many of your points but I think the issue was allowing season ticket holders to buy 2 extra tickets. I do agree they should of been given priority over members but I think 1 additional ticket would of been plenty. Whether that person didn't stay on the phone long enough is irrelvant. I'd rather see a member have a chance of getting a ticket that has seen 10 games + compared to a season ticket holders mate, who isn't even a fan but is a good drinking buddy of the st holder. IMO with the demand I think 2 extra tickets was 1 to many and I have a terrific amount of respect for ST holders that have suffered over the years, I should know I used to be 1.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Some people "want" but are not prepared to go the extra mile to get, then complain at not getting.Fags n weed, glue n speed, but I draws the line at crack !

Not sure why the tout hate. If a fan has either no ticket or a chance to choose to buy one for £100 - surely that is a good thing for the fan. He now has a choice.
It is that or simply no game.
They are providing a service for the chronically disorganised....like me.

Clearly, what has happened in this instance is very unsatisfactory and really needs to be looked at to stop such a shambles occurring again. That is not to say the club have done anything wrong as such as the policy is already in place and there were opportunities for people to ensure they had tickets for Leeds a long time ago.
I have the utmost sympathy for the true fans that for whatever reasons, were unable to ensure their attendance.
Having said that, I also agree with a lot of the points our friend WCG made, including with regards to how it is nice for once that ST holders were able to gain a benefit from their continued loyal support, as opposed to how we have seemed at times to be "shafted", with the various offers made available to others over the last couple of years.
As a season ticket holder though, is it really right, that I should get the opportunity to bring my wife to a game that she has probably got no interest in, just so that she can enjoy the party atmosphere and have less reason to complain about my alcohol intake? Surely, true fans that have been coming "regularly",(however that may be defined) for years should not have to miss out because people wish to bring a "guest".
Personally, I would have liked to see all members get the opportunity of 1 ticket each as the priority, with the remainder if any done by some sort of ballot. Unfortunately, this is QPR we are talking about here and their inability to organise anything at all off the field is a great concern going forward. The website is an absolute joke, although maybe part of that is down to the fact that it is operated in part by a third party.
So many things need improving at the club in relation to how it interacts with its customer base, which is a shame as I'm sure nobody wishes to appear to be moaning having experienced the season we are currently.
