  • Stoke City keen on Argentine currently embroiled in transfer embargo

QPR's Faurlín is an interesting playing but clubs must wait for transfer embargo to be liftedStoke City are keen to land Queen Park Rangers midfielder Alejandro Faurlín but must wait to hear the result of an investigation that could see QPR docked points and fined heavily as it was revealed that a third party were involved in the original transfer of Faurlín from Instituto de Córdoba.

The case resembles that of the “Carlos Tevez” affair and the Argentine midfielder is currently placed on a transfer embargo until the situation has been resolved. During an embargo a player cannot change clubs either as a loan or on a permanent basis.

Should things move much faster than that of the Tevez saga then Stoke will remain keen on the talented 24 year old who has picked up over 80 appearance for QPR and helping them push for promotion for the Premiership.

Faurlín was a club record transfer in 2009 for £3.5m and should the transfer embargo be listed he is like to attract the attention of other Premiership clubs with his value likely to rise to £5m plus. Should QPR win promotion to the Premiership then current manager Neil Warnock will not be too willing to let the six footer depart.

For Stoke it looks to be a “wait and see” situation as they look to add depth to a squad that has coped well in the Premiership this season currently sitting in 10th with 37 points.

Taarabt to WBA and Faurlin to Stoke - don't make me larf.

They may be 'bigger' clubs than us, but they're on borrowed time in the Prem; just one bad season and they will drop and will not be back for a few years. If we get up, struggle next season whilst Stoke and WBA flourish then maybe they would be attractive to Taarabt and Faurlin, but right now, I don't think so...
