  • 'Woodwork' fans

Come on guys, every team has them - don't even like the term. Our fanbase is probably 3 times our average crowd. You tap into that in 2 ways - cheap tickets or success.

For us, success means full houses from now on. Let's not moan. There'd be even more complaints if the Leeds game didn't sell out. If fans miss out, so be it. We've had years of easy availability for games, supply and demand as they say.

Don't really care either way about 'woodwork' fans.If people want to pay to watch a side struggle or succeed then it's their perogative.

Don't think any less of fans who come during the good times.I am not an elitist ******.I make my choice to come when we are rubbish and choose to pay to see it.

Lots of people can't afford to go as much as others or have work that precludes STs etc.

So many people have to be selective, they are more likely to want to go to big games. Basic facts. Better product = more attractive to people.

A lot of people on here are demanding a bigger stadium, then #### everyone off that they expect to fill it as being Johnny-Come-Lateleys and Glory Hunters.
            Make your mind up.

Glory Hunters support Man Utd and Chelsea and soon they will support Man City. They don't support QPR.

I'm doing it all wrong. I've been less over the last two seasons than when we've been pony.

Its easier to get tickets when we are pony, I need aisle seat for my lanky great legs, so have restricted chance of tickets.

I really hope I get my 2 tickets for Leeds
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

Mate I'm exactly the same. Can't bear sitting in the middle of the stand, so unless I get an aisle seat or am at the back so I can stand. I'm going early on friday though so should be ok.

Out of Interest, am i considered a 'Woodwork fan'? I've been to 7 home games, and only the one away, however I work every other saturday. I had a season ticket from 01-02 season (The year we went down to div 2) until 08-09, however gave up with the massive price hike, and the lack of quality football.

Of course not. A true 'woodwork' fan goes once every 5 years and probably couldn't name our manager. Still better to have them than not to have them.

                          All clubs have them.

Next season money will be found by thousands.

Its all about market forces and value for money.

Doesn't make sense for many to drain money seeing us lose at home to Scunthorpe United, but being beaten by Manchester United makes it worth while because we can see Rooney in the flesh

Can't see we've got that many of that sort of fan... can imagine likes of Arsenal have thousands. Anyone ignorant enough to be that "wooden" isn't gonna claim to be an R; they're far more likely to be a ManU fan or such like.

A lot of argument about a bigger ground is based on making it easier to get a decent ticket/view for the occasional fans out there. Not much use if we finally draw these fans to LR only for them to end up in the corner behind a pillar.
