Qualify for Europe. If mediocrity like Bolton/Liverpool can bother the top spots then so can we. All the lower order Prem clubs are full of mercenary foreign footballers; "Carlos Kickaballs" who don't like it up 'em. We can steamroller all of them and we'll have 40 pts on the board before rest of them have noticed.

Is this the third or fourth year of 'The Project'? I suspect its the 4th so Champions League qualification it has to be!!
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

[QUOTE=BennyBoyRs;556778]I think next season is going to be extremely tough. Some will get carried away with this seasons success, when in reality, we'd probably not be top at this stage, going by recent seasons. The likes of West Brom and Newcastle were superb last season.

I'm pretty sure we have a very similar number of points as West Brom did last year with 8 games to go. That's of course on the back of a recent run of 5 wins in 6.

I can see us sitting pretty in 15th with a couple of good quality signings and if we keep hold of Adel.

I certainly won't get carried away and one thing is for sure with NW at the helm we will give it 100% However, the comments re not being top in reality amaze me, at the same stage last season Newcastle were 1 point better off than we are currently and WBA were 1 point worse off !!
We are a lot better than even some of our own fans give us credit for.

I'm with silvercue on this one. 4th from bottom and then build on it. Funny to think we've still got 8 games to go but if we'd have played 38 games next season the season would be over (that is of course if win promotion).

Warnock should be backed and given the whole season regardless of what we do.

100% agree with this - do not want any derogatory comments if we aren't in the champions league places after 5 games !!!!

Not that anyone will want it but if it takes until the last game of next season to clinch survival then so be it. Better that than another merrygo round of managers because we're bottom after a dozen games. Warnock knows this squad. He knows how to get the best out of players like Hall, Helguson, Taraabt, Derry, Hill, Mackie and even Ephraim. Give him the whole season as a reward for what he has achieved this season.

Staying up has to be the priority...Look at this season Bolton in 7th Place are closer to 3rd bottom than they are to 5th..the PL is now about 5 -6 top teams and 14 teams who call all beat each other on the day. we have to be one of those 14 teams the seson after next!!

I expect us to spend enough to stay up comfortably. My hope is that the owners stick with Warnock whenever the time comes that we go through a rough patch. He is the best signing we have made for donkeys years and more.
Not quite sure what you base this on. Ecclestone - if he is our owner next season - has said repeatedly that he won't spend lots and is far more interested in the Blackpool model than the Chelsea one. Hence comments from greyer heads on here about needing to calm down expectations.

Agree with Benny about WBA - they can afford to loan us a player such as Miller because they have considerably better, yet many on here are urging us to buy him permanently and think he wd do well for us in the Premiership. Well WBA are struggling with players they think are better, not only on the pitch but on their bench.
