  • Your Expectations Of The Premiership/If We Go Up?

If we go up and that looks increasingly likely, what are your expectations for our first year in the Premiership, for a very long time?

I'd be delighted with mid-table, realistically though starving off relegation is top priority?

Think it should be expectations of the board. If we sign some decent players then I'd like to think we could end up mid table, other than that we'll be in a relegation battle and it'll be a very, very long season!!

Mid table will do for the first year and a good cup round

4th from bottom in first year will do me and I would expect to be fighting with the 6 or 7 that scrap relegation every year.

After surviving a year we can build and if we stay up for two seasons we can start to be a mid table team with a bit of luck and some wisely spend money.

Mid Table mediocrity would suite me fine. a couple of giant killings, a couple of disappointing thrashings, a ridiculous flirtation with possibly finishing in the Europa spots, and then finally settling down for a nice and comfortable 14th place.

            Job's a goodun.

4th from bottom.. anything higher than that is a bonus.

we need to do a stoke. year by year strengthen and not try do it in one go.

4th from bottom will do, anything else will be great for the first season. it's going to be difficult to manage the expectations of a few after the fantastic season we've had (so far) but....can we pleeeeease make it past the third round of the FA Cup, jus this once, pretty please!!
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

                2015/2016, average at best.....

                2016/2017, same old, same old....

                2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

Agree with Kevster, expectations need to be brought under control - of the board even more than the fans. If, as I expect, they don't spend much money (especially if we are fined heavily over the Faurlin saga) then it will be a battle against relegation. Look at a club like West Ham - they are right down near the bottom yet you would have to say they look better than us.

Survival would be great, anything over 17th place is a bonus. Would love to see us beat 1 of the top 6 (chelsea, utd, arsenal, city, spurs, liverpool) at home

I think next season is going to be extremely tough. Some will get carried away with this seasons success, when in reality, we'd probably not be top at this stage, going by recent seasons. The likes of West Brom and Newcastle were superb last season.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from the team as we've been great, but everyone else keeps bottling it.

The point I'm trying to get at is this...Newcastle and West Brom have superior squads to ours at present, and the latter are really struggling now. In order for this not to happen, we are going to need a suficiant investment in the squad. I am guilty of over rating some of our players, and I don't think I'm in the minority.

Anything from 17th upwards would be a great achievement. I think we're capable of it, but we will certainly need to add to the existing squad. We've got some players who have performed superbly over the course of this season, but will get found out at the next level.

No place for sentiment, I'm afraid.

The owners (whoever they are) and Warnock are not going to be happy with just making up the numbers and finishing 4th from bottom. I expect us to spend enough to stay up comfortably. My hope is that the owners stick with Warnock whenever the time comes that we go through a rough patch. He is the best signing we have made for donkeys years and more.

If we could maintain a good home record and make Loftus Road a fortress and scalp a few top guns at home ...i will be very happy.
