Sometimes it's a lot cheaper to book two seperate singles than a return journey anyway.. or to break a journey down.
For example, for Scunny away, it's much cheaper to get a ticket from London-Donny and then one from Donny-Scunny.
If you're traveling through London, same thing applies.
For example: I'm at uni in Eastbourne and it's much cheaper for me to get a train to Victoria.. then use my Oyster Card round London and have another seperate ticket from King's Cross to get to Doncaster tomorrow.
Including traveling through London on your journeys is what really stings ya.
