  • A tricky couple of weeks off

With the international break and our next game being on a Monday, if results don't go our way this weekend we could find ourselves only 1 point ahead by the time we play The Blades.

I'm not usually one to overhype games as "must wins" or "6 pointers" etc but, for me, this weekend is a must win 6 pointer!

If only to save my fragile nerves!

Don't even get me started on possible points deductions in that fortnight too!!!

    Stwike him centurwion!

We're going up, as Champions, end of!
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

    2015/2016, average at best.....

    2016/2017, same old, same old....

    2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

          Yeah strange post.

Surely we have to be getting exctied just a little?

We are the form team and should fear no one!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I hope you're all correct. I'm only pointing out that a loss this weekend could seem worse than usual because we don't play on the next Saturday when everyone else does.

A fortnight off only 4 points ahead could firmly install the fear in most of our fanbase, including me.

Good thinking. I'll pack them with my Valium, paperbag and "sounds of the ocean" calming cd.

Well, when we play Sheff U, we'll be playing the team with the worst defensive and away records in the league. 3 points - balance restored

I always thought a '6 pointer' was when BOTH sides desperately wanted to win for the same reason. ie. To gain points and stop them getting 3 also.

Donny are 10 points clear of Relegation and 16 off the Playoff. So they are about as close to a 'nothing to play for but pride' as we can hope to have right now.

They also try to play football, which hopefully will be good for us.
And Adel, with any luck they won't try to kick him out of the game too early as has happened a couple of times recently.

And regards our Rivals, there's some tasty games this coming weekend, and they can't all win.

Bottom line is if we can keep winning, leave the rest to worry about who'll finish 2nd / in Playoff / Miss Out, etc.

I think more likely is a Norwich draw / loss at Hull and 3 more points for the Superhoops at Doncaster = minimum of 9 points clear going into the International break. Surely even the most pessimistic amongst us must be getting just a little bit of confidence.

You are correct. I was being intentionally melodramatic and tongue in cheek.

I still think that this weekends fixture has a little more about it because of the long gap and the fact that we play on a Monday next. Purely on a psychological level of course. I wouldn't be surprised if Warno thinks the same either.

                          Kaspars Boots -
I'm probably one of the most pessimistic on here.
I won't get over confident until the FA have decided our fate.
In the meantime, I just want us to put as many points between us and 2nd or 3rd at worst, in the hope we'll avoid the Playoff lottery.

                          Ellerslie -
I see your point, but I guess it was the same for Cardiff & Norwich this weekend, watching everyone else to play Saturday (albeit without an International break).
you could be right about Warnock, but he'll probably enjoy the chance to get everyone 100% fit again and focused on our run in.

If we win Sat, 8 draws could be enough !
