  • we're packing loftus road now

with attendances rocketing into the 18,000's this season it is safe to say that Loftus Road is indeed full on matchdays (even the restricted view seats seem to be going). What I want is your opinions on weather the need for a larger capicity is to be saught after if we have a successfull first season in the Premier League (fingers crossed, toutch wood, spin around in a circle 3 times with your eyes shut). Could see much higher gates against the likes of Chel****, Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool (not to mention Spurs, Man City, Fooooooolham).
What do you think? I love Loftus Road though, but you have to admit, away teams like to take the **** a bit, and that will only amplify in the Prem.
But here is to Loftus Road
QPR, remember that name, you'll be cursing it later

Definately need a bigger ground, what with all the people crawling back out of the woodwork and plastic fans starting to to turn up (and that's before we're even up), having such a small capacity is laughable for the likes of when Man U etc visit (and i'm not talking away fans). Ok we will still have to play some of the lesser clubs too, but really, aren't we one of them at the moment. It takes time to grow and we won't do that at LR although i'm sorry to say.

Of course we need a bigger ground if we establish ourselves in The Prem.

The owners (if they haven't already) will soon realise that, and anyone who doesn't think we'd sell out the home areas every week will be realising it pretty soon too.

Forget our fan base from the early 90's... it's bigger now. People have grown up, had kids, and they've grown up too.
"The Premiership Experience" is a far bigger draw now, etc...

                    Float an idea here....

Wouldn't make the club "much" additional money....but, like Ajax similarly used to for their big home games, we take some to Wembley?

The FA would be all over it (desperately need the cash) and would lean on Brent to bend the planning regulations - currently only 17 capacity events are allowed during a calendar year. If we just used the lower bowl and the Club Wembley seating, you're still looking at 50,000 seats and keeping within Brent's licencing agreement . The FA keep all the catering concessions etc and nice rental payment from us. We get to grow the fanbase and keep say 80% of the ticket revenue. Atmosphere would be a bit iffy half full but we'd sell out 50k for the Arsenal's, Spurs, United's etc etc. if sensibly priced. Better than sharing the Bridge. (nb Craven Cottage cannot be used for ground sharing).

                    Any thoughts?

Mate, if The FA want to raise some cash off our backs, I can think of an easier way. And quicker.

Interesting idea though... but really can't see it being a starter!

If we played say, 5 games at Wembley, that'd be £4m for the FA and we take similar in gate receipts alone.

                        Think outside the box!

                        Plus NDM in the hearing

"C'mon, we hire your Crozier vanity project/financial millstone/cash vacuum that's killing your revenue stream for the next 10 years and you go easy on us for Faurlin stuff? Deal?"

we have sold out 3-4 times, cos we are top
hardly a case to build an arena of 30000+
if we fill loftus rd for next few years..then yes, look at new ground...
thing is, if we go down, 20000 empty seats will be horrible to look at....like coventry!
25000 would do, does fulham and better to fill than be a wigan.
