  • Who would you buy first if you were...

Who would you buy first if you were Neil Warnock?

Say Amit and the Mittals agree on an initial 10 million for transfers and loans.
Who would you get first? I mean position wise, is left back the first area of need? centre back? striker? who are the first 3 players you would buy for rangers if we were in the premiership? You could give names or just go by position.

Realistically, if we were to be promoted....

            Jamie O'Hara
            Shane Long
            Matthew Mills
            & Routledge

Graham, Long, Doyle (assuming Wolves go down).

We'll need a couple of defenders too but cant think who yet.

Clyne would be the nearest we could get to replicating Walker.

I know its a daft thing to say given our defensive record but Orr is a weak link IMO.

Richard Dunne from Aston Villa, especially at the moment.

Even a sneaky loan bid now could be worth a shout with an agreement to sign him if we go up.

Rory Delap would be great fun for a year.

Faurlin, if we haven't got him already.

Ashley Cole to help the strikers with shooting practice.

I'd say a few already mentioned, like O'Hara, Clyne, Routledge and Long.

                          I'd add...

Lee Bowyer. He'd be a decent addition, with plenty of experience.

Ishmail Miller. Looks to be getting back to it, and would be a great impact sub for the Prem. Fast, powerful, and still young.

If not Miller, then Ebanks-Blake. Same sort of player, but possibly better in front of goal.

Jeffrey Bruma. Young, classy international player. Looks to have a very cool head on him, for someone with such little experience. Can play RB as well.

Roger Johnson. Experienced, and very good. A very realistic signing, too. Him and Bruma could work well together.

Ben Mee / Patrick van Aanholt / Ryan Bertrand. All three could be a useful addition in the LB slot. Even as backup for Hill, who as harsh as it sounds, may be found out too easily in the Prem.

These, along with the current squad would be a decent enough side to stablise for a couple of seasons.
                          Your mum would love me...

My first buy would depend on who went down as I would go after the best striker from the 3 clubs

                              Long shot? Crouch.
After Harry buys two strikers in the summer, and he's pushed down the order at Spurs.

Danny Graham would be worth taking a good look at.

In reality, we could take any player from any club left in this league.
Although Nicky Maynard is already being touted around for £5m to Everton etc..
Howson, Gradel or Snodgrass at Leeds?
Eagles at Burnley, maybe Jay Rodriguez.
                              Wes Morgan from Forest?
Take your pick from Palace. Or Pompey. Or Boro. Or Reading. Or even Cardiff, if they don't make it up. Bothroyd is probably off to bigger fish though.

Even Grant Holt might be worth a look. Not my cup of tea, but very effective.

Then there are the 3 teams relegated from The Prem.
If it's Wolves - maybe Matt Jarvis.
                              Wigan? Expect Ben Watson(!)
WBA? Dorans (pricey) or Chris Brunt. (both cracking players)
                              Blackpool? Maybe DJ Campbell.

I'll leave West Ham out of this(!) They wont go down.

                              Just rambling now...
