Next season all over again, or improvement?

What do people think will happen next year? If we dont spend money, i can see a complete repeat of last year happening again. We had a great start and were 4th at one point, but then it all went downhill from there. Surely the board now know we have to spend a little? I think 3 good players, possibly 4 at the most will improve the squad dramatically. What are peoples predictions?

I reckon we will improve on last year for the following reasons

1.Our defence is rock-solid
2.Our midfield will contain our most creative players returning from injury
3.We will sign a decent striker
4.They don't want to make another managerial sacking,so will get the right guy.
