Squeeze are South London stock, but from Woolich area, so possibly more Charlton Or Arsenal ?)

Mick Jones of The Clash, Big Audio Dynamite, Gorillaz & CarbonSiliconInc is massive Q.P.R. Fan. Just listen to the fade out of London Calling for a hint

He attend most games and plenty away as well.
Also produced both Libertines albums which include a more high profile fan.

comparing pop to punk/dub/rock is a little difficult.
Clash songs are still played in sporting stadia in the US
till today, squeeze? well you wouldn't expect 'up the junction'
              in a stadium, would you?

Probably not but Squeeze have reformed, ie. still playing and regularly used to play Madison Square Gardens in New York. Although not technically a stadium it is pretty big. I know what you mean though wb.

As an aside anyone know what 'Up The Junction' has in common with 'the Prince' (Madness), 'Virginia Plain' (Roxy Music) and 'Just Like Heaven' (The Cure - another QPR fan in singer Smith) ???

                It's not obvious.

I thought couple of guys from Squeeze went to school with Danny Baker, so more likely Millwall or possibly Charlton?
Can't compare them with the Clash, can you? Totally different bands albeit both from London.
Clash would be my pref, but Squeeze had some great lyrics in their songs.
Never saw the Clash but did see Joe Strummers band the 101'ers a couple of times. Now that was a band......

                      Hmmm. Squeeze or the Clash?

"the past has been bottled and labelled with love" or

"white riot I wanna riot, white riot I wanna riot of my own"

No brainer for me. Clash all day long.

                      Squeeze were a girls band

                            Clash for me.

Grew up listening to their music as my sister was a punk.

No chorus, nope, well not quite.

In all 4, the only time the songs title is heard is at the end of the song.
Sung once and last words sung !

                              Good try though '67
