  • Luckily For Us...

...the QPR players and manager are far more experienced at winning promotion to The Prem than the fans, and are probably far less nervous and excited about it than we are.

The QPR fans haven't seen this since 1983, and can't quite believe what we are are seeing.
In a world where I expect things to go t*ts up, that's a comfort!

    Warnock
    Kenny
    Smith
    Hall
    Routledge
    Hulse
    Derry
    Miller
    Mahon

They've all been down the identical "Road To The Premier League" that we are on at the moment, and handled it. And they're handling it now.

How many Cardiff, Swansea, Forest or Norwich players can say that they've handled this in the past, or are handling it well right now? Not many, judging by their form lately.
Bottlers, nerves and jitters, and all below us.

The fans?? We're novices at all this (apart from Hillsborough).
I suppose we just have to trust the experts on this - The current manager and players of QPR.

(Maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better by typing this out?! but it's all true.)

It was 2 points for a win back then, and we won it by 10 clear points.

I also think that promotion was almost expected from the year before, when we reached the FA Cup Final... while this campaingn has come out of the blue to even the most optimistic fan.

I think we're all in a state of shock!

I think everyone would whizz this season forward at x30 if we were watching it on Sky+ to see how it ends.

And then watch it back in real time, after we know the ending. Slowly.
                  Again, and again, and again...

remember 83 as well, standing in the paddock every home game, we went up by beating leeds with an own goal scored by Paul Hart. Fulham at home after that was good as well - was that for the championship...think it was??

It did seem easier or more comfortable back then for some strange reason?? we did demolish a few teams on the way and had a very good away record as well.

The line is in sight(ish) now & want it over with so can (hopefully) celebrate

                        You R's!!!!!!!!!
Thank **ck thats all over with !!! need a holiday!!!

Because we are all getting nervy the actual day when we get promoted will be one to savour! Saturdays Miller goal is a brief insight as the pressure that is building. I for one am looking forward to the end of the season but am trying to enjoy our time in the limelight.

Ah memories, '83 was or should I say is still my fondest one. I think this year will be sweeter as the prize is bigger in terms of finance.
Still, and maybe it's old age onset coming a bit early but I am enjoying this season so much that I just don't want it to end!

I remember it well and it was easier then.

The top 3 went up and QPR were streets ahead of everyone else and had beaten every team at least once. QPR were winning games by 3,4 and 5 goal margins. It is a lot tougher now with more teams challenging for the top two automatic promotion places.

But I agree, this squad and management team have done it before, so know what is required.
