It's a bit steep in price plus for some reason this the first I have even heard off it on here.

It would be nice to see some legends from the 90's as well.

Shame its on a school night for me but I might grab a couple of tickets if there is a decent deal to stay after at the hotel and then go straight to work

Might as well catch a sherbet all the way home and save yourself £80 on the room

Thing is I work in Paddington and have a 7.30am start that Friday so am near enough at work if I stay there but then again a Black Cab home would make sense

Whats the point of having a legends night without the main man, Sir Les Ferdinand.

                  Won't go 4 this reason.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I will try and do some interviews for the site

I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

                            RODNEY etc

                            HI all,
I have just had an e-mail from Rodney Marsh.... he is 100 definitely going to the Legends dinner. Also phoned Mark Lazarus who is also going.

As for Sir Les, the problem is that he holds a very high community position at Spurs and is their official ambassador. This obviously makes it hard for him to be involved in any other clubs (The same goes for Tony Currie at Shef UTD.)

I'm always a bit cynical about these events. Phil Parkes is on the poster but not on the list. It's also true that Les Allen's health has made it impossible for him to attend any functions (Including the '67 re-union last season.), yet his name is listed!
On the last re-union, Rodney was listed as confirmed. Yet, Rod actually knew nothing about it until I e-mailed him. He couldn't get there because he lives in Florida. Yet, at the function it was announced that Rodney simply didn't turn up, so we had to put out a statement telling the truth.... Rodney knew nothing about it and his name was just used to sell tickets!
As one of, if not the biggest QPR legend, this left a lot of fans who had paid a stupid amount of money to meet Rod very let down and angry as they were convinced he just hadn't bothered!!

For this event, it wouldn't be complete without- Phil Parkes, Ian Gillard, Dave Thomas, Don Masson, John Hollins, Dave Webb and probably our most uncredited player ever- Don Givens. Apart from his very first season, Givens was our top scorer every season he played and his goals that put the '76 team in touching distance of the title- Yet, he seems to be completely forgotten as a QPR legend! (Which puts him in the same underrated bracket as- Dave Thomas, Don Masson, Dave Clement, Mike Keen,Barry Bridges, Mick Leach, Tony Currie, Peter Eastoe, Paul Goddard, David Bardsley, Roy Wegerle ... etc, etc)
It would also be nice to have a family member there, to represent the late, great Dave Clement. None of these seem to be on the list. As it is also supposed to be for the team that beat Chelsea 6-0- where is Gary Bannister who scored the hat-trick and John Byrne who scored and played out of his skin???
The list of 'Legends' (especially the 80's & 90's) is extremely poor!
No- Trevor Sinclair, Andy Sinton, Roy Wegerle, Paul Parker, Kenny Sansom or David Seaman?
No- Clive Allen, Terry Fenwick, Peter Hucker or John Gregory from the 80's.
And wheres the 6-0 V Chelsea players?

I understand a lot of former players live abroad or are simply unavailable, but I know a few players who simply DO NOT WANT to go!!
There are an awful lot of players who left QPR in bitter circumstances and QPR has never done much for it's ex- players- They could not have made less fuss over the passing of Mike Keen, our only ever Wembley, major trophy winning Captain if they tried!!!
How many Hoops fans didn't even know?
There should be a statue of Mike Keen & the '67 Wembley team outside the ground. The hospitality boxes have rubbish names like ' the W12 suite!'
                            It's a bloody postcode!
West Ham have the 'Bobby Moore Stand', Leeds a statue of Billy Bremner, there are statues or stands to Club legends at 95% of clubs... we have our post code!!!

                            Lastly, £75 is a disgrace!
I have often said that our owners think West London & the West End are the same. Those of us who are born & bred in West London, struggle to buy a match ticket & have to save for the current seasons shirt!
Our Part of West London (like White City-Not SW- like Chelsea & not Holland Park etc!), is as working class as the East End.... We are being priced out of our own club!
A match ticket, programme, a few beers in the Springbok & perhaps 1 item of clothing from the Club shop, will part you with the best part of £100!!
Football, until recently has always been the sport of the working class- the drug of the masses. You could put up with a rubbish job knowing that on Saturday you could treat yourself at QPR- It's no longer the peoples sport, it's corporate ' How can we drain them of every penny'.
It's OUR MONEY that we spent on tickets, merchandise etc, etc, that payed these players their wages that gave them the chance to become 'Legends'.... But now, we have to pay £75 each to go to a posh hotel in dinner clothes.... Just to sit with them!!!!
And i bet it's not just me thinking " I would love to go to that do, but no way have I got that sort of money to spare."
                            Lemon Tart???
I'm in heaven with pie, mash & eels thanks!!!!
