When my fishmonger father (Portobello Rd) took me to the R's when I was 8,nearly 60 years ago.I was in the boys enclosure behind the goal in the Loftus Rd end.During the pre-match kick about against Colchester on a very cold day,the ball smacked me in the fizog and I hit my head on the steps.I was attended to by the St.John's Ambulance men and got to meet all the players after the game.I've been in love with the club and team ever since.

I think the first time I went on my own to a game (12 yrs old ish)
Back in the early 80's (Stainrod , Allen etc) .
There was always a bit of aggro ( no matter who came to us) and even though I was never into FV there was always someone.. that couple of years older than you who would 'see no harm ' came to you.
Standing in the loft back then with my 'elderbrothers' you just knew it felt like home!!

1969/70 cant remember exactly but remember standing on a box in the school boys area watching us beat Wolves (I think).
It was a long time ago, back when I used to worry how everyone got to Scotland if you got relegated from(the old) division 4 because World of Sport and Grandstand always showed the Scottish division 1 right after our Division 4. It made sense to a 5 year old that you went form Div 4 to Scot Div 1...2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!
2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....
2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....
2015/2016, average at best.....
2016/2017, same old, same old....
2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!
Its the hope that kills you!

Me and my brother were never gonna support anyone else, was taken to my first game when I was about 4.. All my dads family were QPR, my brothers 3 years older than me so I'd say his influence aswell as my dads got me hooked.. Always had a natural passion for football and QPR was and would always be my only team to follow..
Wouldn't say 1 moment of magic got me hooked, remember led Ferdinand getting a hat trick in one of the games I went to in the early days.. That probably helped..
Me and my brother were QPR before we were even born, no choice in the matter!Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

When Gordon Hill came to QPR In 1980 I seem to remember we had Tommy Docherty as manager. Not the best QPR manager maybe(Cough, cough), but I think Allen, Goddard,Tony Currie and Chris Woods etc were names that very soon should place us on the fotball map again. And As time went by I looked up the results in our local newspaper in Norway after every single QPR match and got more and more amazed by the number of goals Goddard and Allen scored. Anyway, how astonised the pair of them made me(and other fotball supporters in Norway(not only QPR supporters) when it came to scoring goals,
Personally, I will never forget Gordon Hill. Hence,In that respect, I some sort of went from player to club. From The wizard on the wing to the british replica of Holland 74.
Bottomline for me; What A pity that his knees were gone when he came to us!!
To this date I believe he runs his own Youth club in the US.Last edited by Shania; 03-03-2011, 06:00 PM.QPR

Back in the day, there was a football magazine called Match Weekly (Not sure if still around?) Some Derby supporting kid slagged off The Doc and Qpr in the letters page. I wrote a response defending him and got the £10 Star letter. A year later, I wrote another Qpr related Star letter and won a football.
Nothing's changed. I'm still writing for peanuts. In retrospect, those were bloody good wages for a 14 year old.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!
