  • birmingham city...qpr related.......factos monday thought of the day

firstly well done that a 'lesser/smaller' club have won some silverware other than the usual suspects......my point is when we go up will some fans expectations be ridiculously over exagerated???.........birmingham city are one of only two sides in the 'second city' yet that was their first 'real' trophy since winning the league cup half a century ago....they have a bigger/better stadium and much bigger home/away following yet are a bit of a 'yo yo' club and more often than not spend their premiership seasons fighting relegation......when we go up, barring the miracle of our owners going spend spend spend crazy fourth from bottom will be a real achievement.now before some start slating me for lack of ambition its often the unrealistic desires of some that puts the team/club under unwarrented pressures!!

that was facto's 'monday thought of the day'.........which will be my latest addition to watrb's!!

In that case may I recommend a bar in Tunbridge Wells I went to last Saturday? My wife had gone away on a girls trip so me and eight guys went to this bar and it was unbelieveable - when I tell you we could have been in Essex, I can pay it no higher compliment. We were just there for the refreshments really - I had drinks coloured brown, green, red and something that even looked quite mauve - and girl after girl just came up to us chatting away. But it was a bit like Rangers really when Hulse is on the pitch - lots of lovely approach play but no one to still it in the back of the net. We needed you there mate.

Apart from one time back in 68....the two times we got up to the top...we stayed up and finished in the top half for years. We were the "Blackpool" of them days and thats why we were loved by all the big brothers...I really think we can do it again.

lad thats a nice thought but times have changed dramatically in the premier league.....blackpool i fear will still go down despite their 'great season'!!

Birmingham have a notoriously fickle fan base. Their support regularly falls off a cliff during their lower league adventures. Almost as bad as Middlesbrough in that respect (though not quite). If you stick Birmingham in the Championship for 5 consecutive mid table seasons, their average attendance would be around the 14k mark. No more.

Even though they are the "second" club in the second biggest UK city, they are miles and miles behind "the Villa" in every single aspect.
