Deserving? If they have travelled thousands of miles the past 6 or so months (and in some cases been to pre season games aswell)... then imo they deserve a ticket to the Cardiff away game more then someone who has gone to the odd home game and a couple of aways should they want one...

Some people plan there careers around having Saturdays off to see their team, its that commitment that keep some small teams in business and imo shouldnt be knocked. (Not having a go or saying you are knocking anyone).. Just my opinion and following on from your post i felt it was the right post to relate my thoughts to..

If I had been to every game home and away for the last 2 seasons but only managed 6 away games this one am I less deserving that a fan who has been eight times in the last two seasons but to 30 this?

Loyalty points, imho, should be carried forward from when a fan first registered with the database or when the loyalty scheme first started.

Wouldn't argue with that to an element....maybe the last 5 years though to give younger fans a chance to build up their points.

I agree that a way of rewarding fans is important but its very hard to find a suitable scheme. Leading up to the 1982 Cup Final I was still living locally to LR and went to nearly all games home and away for many many seasons. I missed one of the two home games where cup final ticket vouchers were given out. I had ticket stubs for over 40 games that season but due to missing that one game I did not initially get a ticket. I wrote to the club twice, telephoned and eventually went to LR in person and was rewarded for my efforts with 2 tickets. So how does the club operate a fair scheme?

But surely they are more deserving if they have racked up loads of away games already this season so why should they possibly miss out on a game which could get us promoted?

Anyway its on the telly and an early kick off so maybe the demand wont be there afterall and everyone that wants a ticket will get one in the end:drunk:

Have to agree with this on the loyalty points being carried forward every season.

I went to nearly every home game last season with no season ticket as my family and I were able to afford it.

I have nothing against someone getting a ticket ahead of me if they have been to more away games, but that does not always mean they have travelled more miles, so there is absolutely no way this could be administered.
We have supporters all over the country so someone who lives in the North for example could possibly see more Northern away games by travelling less distance than someone who lives in the Bush and has to coach/train it to those Northern games.
I suppose one way of doing it would be by postcode: Take Me for example, i have a round trip of 106 miles from down South for each home game and although i have been to a few away games too, i have probably clocked up more miles following the R's than someone who lives in the Bush even if they have been to more away games than me.
It's just too damn confusing and too difficult to administer, in the ideal world we will all get a ticket and there will be no problems but we all know this is the Real world so it won't happen like that and some will be disappointed.
Unfortunately there is not a lot we can do about it until the club organize something so good luck to all those who can get a ticket, i want to go to both Cardiff & Watford but if i miss out because of someone who has been to more away games then so be it, not a lot i can do is there, and like people have already said, they are both on TV.

The England Supporters club scheme works pretty well where you get a point for every home home and two for away games but you have to prove you travelled either by having your memberships scanned where er are playing or sending off boarding cards or hotel receipts etc though obviously this would not apply to QPR games

The membership runs in two year periods and at the end of each period the only points (caps) carried over are those you earned in the previous period so it it is relatively easy to get high up the list when and be guaranteed a ticket for the harder to get matches

If the demand is much higher then what is available then there the highest 70% who apply are automatically guaranteed a ticket and the remaining ones go to a ballot and if these are not sold then go on general sale to members only

The following info from the England Supporters Club regarding the allocation for our Wales away tickets will I expect explain it a lot clearer

We can today confirm the ticket allocation results for our away match against Wales in Cardiff.

Wales v England
Saturday 26 March 2011
Venue: Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
Kick Off: 3.00pm
Ticket Price: £25, £15

For the Wales match there were just over 12,000 englandfans Gold members who applied for the 7500 tickets available; therefore it was necessary to use the ‘caps system’ to allocate the tickets. Members who applied on 15 caps or more were guaranteed tickets (70%), whilst members on less than 15 caps were placed in a ballot for the remaining tickets (30%).

Note: As there were 395 tickets leftover from the 70% allocation, it was necessary to do a mini-ballot amongst the 446 members on 14 caps who applied. Therefore some 14 cappers were included in the 70% category.

englandfans Gold members who applied in time can check their allocation result via the 'Tickets & Matches' section, if you have been allocated a ticket your name will be listed in the ‘Ticket Guaranteed’ section. Those members who were unsuccessful will see their names listed under the ‘Application Unsuccessful’ section.

Please note that everyone in your group may not have the same allocation result, as some members were guaranteed tickets in the 70% allocation.

How to claim your ticket
If you have been successful and still wish to attend the match you will need to claim your ticket between midday on Friday 21 January until 3.00pm on Monday 24 January 2011. You can purchase your ticket by calling the englandfans 24-hour Ticket Line on 0844 847 2010 or alternatively log onto www.TheFA.com/Tickets

Any tickets that go unclaimed will be made available to unsuccessful gold members in the second chance sale on a first-come-first served basis from 10.00am on Tuesday 25 January, via 0844 847 2010 or www.TheFA.com/Tickets

Remember, when you are purchasing your ticket you need to quote your FAN number. If you are claiming tickets for more than one member you will need to be able to quote the FAN numbers and dates of birth of each member of your group.

Please note group bookings are limited to a maximum of four englandfans GOLD members per group and each person would need to have been successful in the ticket ballot. If you wish to travel as a group please book together as you will not be able to add to an existing booking at a later date.

The deadline date for the Wales game is Monday 14 March 2011.

I know they dont give loyalty points at home games. I wish i got a season ticket last season as it woulld have been cheaper and i would have had loyalty points for buying one.

Doing a scheme where you get points from where you travel would be too hard to run. The MPs got away with it for years.

At the end of the day. The more games you go to in a season gives you the points to go to games like Watford and Cardiff.

People make sacrifices all year to go to games.

I want to be at the game where we get promoted. I have followed my club home and away all my life. I'm not gonna miss out on this one.

Anyway, for the Watford game it will be like usual where Rangers will be all over their poxy little dump.
