  • Do you think our owners are here for the the long or the short haul?

When flavio and co took over, there was a lot of flavio talk about a 'boutique style of club'. But then the economy crashed and it was never clear if boutique meant small and pricey.

Was this the original concept, or just to get us up and then sell on at a profit? Do their 'we're in it for the long term' statements hold any substance?
It seems the only way to make a reasonable guaranteed profit at the moment is to yoyo between the divisions, with a good winning championship season every few.

Unless we're just a playtoy club where owners throw away lots of money for fun, why did flavio want us? I think he's now realised that owning a club means in his case, in keeping his mouth firmly and totally shut, is that any fun for him?

Short Haul - I wouldn't be surprised to see us sold this summer as it would represent the best opportunity to make a profit on the club at any point in time if we are promoted.

If they do stick about I would expect them to adopt a cautious business model, sod all expediture on transfer fees etc. The only money I'd expect them to be throwing about in the Prem will be on their friends in the hospitality areas.

Afraid i agree, what better time to cash in when the club has been promoted and the money men can walk away unscathed and probably with a healthy profit as the club will be worth more as a premiership outfit

bernie has no interest but i hold out a bit of hope with amit. in no way are we a profit making plan for the owners so i'm hoping that owning a football club in the best lge in the world will somehow tug on their heartstrings and get them to have a real passion for us. at the end of the day no-one knows so i thought i'd thrown my sentimental ten pence worth in!!! would prefur to plod along instead of going mad and imploding/exploding like others before us.

I think it's a bit unfair to say Bernie has no interest, he's been to a fair few games this season, maybe as many as Amit.

I'd say Bernie if anyone of them is the one who actually does care. Forget the stupid Chesh!t statements, he does that all the time with a mic in his face.

He has been fronting the lions share of the bills etc by all accounts & is the main shot caller.

Amit on the other hand I can't work out, he came with a lot of big talk & tbh he has sunk into the background & has had very little say in things it seems. The fact his sugar daddy in law declined to buy available shares kind of says it all to me. If true that is.

I would take a punt & say they will stick around, Premiership money, increased gates & turnover, global exposure... Its right up they're street.

bernies a petrolhead wicksta and has no real interest in football. but as you say he's been a few times so maybe he's coming around to the idea of being in charge of a prem team-all we can do is hope. still have a feeling if we started off on the wrong foot again he'd lose faith and would jack it all in.
