Student nurses shouldnt be allowed to work the weekends. And all f them agree. If we are not being paid for doing weekends and bank holidays then we shouldn't do them. It's unfair.

Student teachers aren't paid for teaching a whole class on teaching practices, which can be 5 days a week for seven weeks or more.
Don't want to get into an argument, but you choose your career, you take the consequences of what the training and job involve.

What I find strange is the lack of houses up there -- the whole town is just one big dock/industrial estate.
When I asked my Boro friend where the houses are, he replied, "Stockton-upon-Tees", which I suppose explained it a bit.

Have a word with yourself. You lot get plenty of perks in your course. A lot gets paid for (and rightly so) in your line than most others. Not being funny, Cait, butof course you wouldn't agree with free labour. Students always feel hard done by. You chose the course, and IRS part and parcel I'm afraid.

If you are that against it, go out and graft if you're after money.

            I hope you don't feel I'm having a pop. That's life.

I know I am lucky to get paid £560 a month. I'm just getting sick of being used as a health care assistant. When I am qualified I am going to be sh!t scared when I am given the keys and left to do it on my own. I feel I know nothing.

I know its life. But I think its harsh we have to work Bank Holidays when the staff on the duty are getting double pay when we are doing the HCA work ourselves.

Indeed. Student teachers get a lot of time off too be fair though. Student nurses get 7 weeks in the whole year. Suppose 7 weeks isn't bad. But I get jealous when my boyfriend gets like 12 weeks off just for the summer!

                    Wrong career choice.

Become a hooker, £200 per hour, three tricks a day, £3000 a week, £156'000 a year...cash in hand, for three hours work a day.

                    Tell me I'm wrong!

                      What job does he do?!?!
If he's a teacher, he isn't at my school -- 4 weeks summer, 1 week Christmas, 1 at Easter, half terms we tend to work at home.

I have far more sympathy for Nurses over moaning teachers.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

It won't get any easier mate. My mum's been a nurse for 36 years. She's A&E manager now at East Surrey, and she throws in 6 12 hour shifts a week most of the time. It's a hard job and one I have respect for. You think this is tough...you wait until you get drunk, junkie s.cu.m bags threatening you. You'll love that part.

Ah I've had abuse from all of the above. At my trust we do 14 hour shifts on the wards. We do three of them in a week. Kills ya! espicially when you have two or three of them in a row.

Mechanical Engineering. He gets so much time off. Though he is moving to Chelmsford in July to start a placement working 5 days a wee. That will hit him!
