is there any explanation for the football league to change the final day of the season three quarters of the way through it?
what could possibly of changed now that didnt make them think of doing at the start?

I thought that, dunno maybe as so many teams are all fighting for promotion it could be a very stressful emotional day for fans which of course could lead to aggro.

I suppose by bringing it a day forward & kick off times earlier it lessens the possibility, ie; Leeds fans coming down on a friday boozing all weekend no doubt causing trouble, now its down Friday up early for a 12,45 kick off & done. That's my take on it anyway.

I wasn't aware they'd done this. Not that bothered personally, though I preferred the Sunday 3pm as it allowed us to get proper pissed beforehand. Now we will have to have beer breakfasts. Perhaps we will be bored of celebrating by then as we'll have had party after party from Cardiff to Watford and back? Or not.

I don't think there's any mystery as to why they've shifted - the official reason in the link admits that Sky and BBC want games then, for ratings doubtless or to avoid something else, and they are not allowed to move odd games so they've moved the lot.

Pain for those that need to travel and (reasonably) thought this one was immoveable and bought those cheap non-refundable tickets. Like those coming from Leeds, for example. More old ladies will need to be mugged to refund the replacement tickets now

Doesnt affect me personnally but its typical of the powers that be just going ahead and making decisions without thinking of the people that really matter-the fans. People up and down the country will have pre made arrangements for the final games and now will be out of pocket. Its discusting

It's a disgrace that they change the date so late in the season (tho' it doesnt affect me personally) - they must know that train ticket can be bought up to 90 days before departure and the fans would buy flight tickets in advance.
If they want to introduce it they should do it for 2011/12 season.

It isn't just travel either. Some of us have to make child care arrangements a good while in advance and unpicking them isn't easy when the kids other parent has made arrangements around them. The whole thing starts to unravel, time and money gets wasted amidst general upset.

Sky bumping us to 2 Mondays from the remaining saturday home games we had has been the final nail that made the junior season ticket this year a thorough waste of money.

Appears some bods are now gonna be out of pocket. What sort of "small print" is there that would allow club/league to weasle out of getting sued? I know games can be re-scheduled for telly but whole point of "final Sunday" was games were to be televised then - you could put up a compelling argument for expecting that those games would not be re-scheduled.
