  • Pitch Invasions..

.. If we were to win the league at home.. would you invade the pitch at the final whistle?

  • #2
We did against Leeds in 83....

There were more horses on the pitch than the 3:30 at Kempton Park at the end of the match... If memory serves loads of Leeds piled on the pitch too.....

1-0 with a Trevor Cherry OG I think was enough to clinch promotion that day....

Ahhhh.. what a great day that was...

Its tradition. As long as its the last game. But then again if we are Champs the players wont be able to parade the cup around the ground.

Definitely gotta go on the pitch. Waited an eternity for this kind of moment.

It was infact our old allie and sour faced friend Paul Hart who scored the OG !
              Happy days indeed !

                people

ill always remember the palace game when we won 6-0
but this time there will be no invasion because the leeds fans, mean that this game will be given a diffirant security classification

palace fans love them or hate them are a good humured lot,but the whole of the lower tier will be the leeds service crew

unless of course we do the sensible thing and escort the leeds fans out the ground then we could enjoy the festivities

Ahh the 83 game, remember it well; it felt like the whole loft ran at the school end, the lsc backed up pretty fast; other than an exchange of a few coins & words, nothing major occurred.

My friend & I was spotted on the 6'0 Clock new that evening by his mum

Used to love the last game going on the pitch !!

I lost my step-son late eighties on the pitch and it needed an annoucement to find him !

To much health and safety concerns now.

I bet they will make announcement that they won't lift championship if fans go on the pitch

Last time I ran on the pitch was when we beat Wolves 2-1 at home I think to clinch the second division championship. the announcer was calling for everyone to get off but he was just ignored - it was all good natured and nothing violent. I was about 14 at the time and am now 43 so its been a long wait.

I remember that; the wall at ER by the School End collapsed, my friend & I tried helping a Wolves fan up who got his legged trapped under the rubble, only for the OB to wade in to us :(

Also remember a little rumble on the walk back to the 220 bus stop :impatient:
