  • I hope the Connolly/Gorrks argument is put to bed

Tonight Danny Shittu was immense. He gave us everything we have been missing. A dominant, fearless, brute of a centre half. Bossed Scotland and wickham from the start.
I was worried if powder puff Connolly Played he would have been muscled out the game by wickham, and was so glad to see big dan on the starting team sheet.
I was surprised he axes Gorrks too but fitz let no one down.
I think tonight also showed that the mean defensive record is down mainly to the likes of Hill, Kenny and Derry , not Gorrks and conning, as Shittu was an absolute rock and we didn't miss them at all.Welcome back big man and love the badge kissing at the end to the fans too!!!

How can Connolly be a powder puff???

Part of the best defence we have had in years. Shittu and Hall weren't exactly tested by Ipswich tonight were they?? Wickham played out wide!

You are totally deluded if you think 2 centre halves are not part of the reason why we have had such a good defence this season. Wait until Shittu and Hall play against some proper strikers with movement. Shittu and Hall not good enough to lace the boots of Gorks and Connolly.

And please don't fall for the badge kissing! He was kissing his badge at Millwall earlier in the season and at Bolton last season! Lampard does it Chelsea when supposedly all his family are West Ham.

You obviously haven't been to many games this season if you think Gorks and Hall are bad! Have proved they are the best pairing in the league. Just look at the FACTS.
First game: Arsenal vs Queen's Park Rangers at Highbury, Saturday 17th November 1984.

No you are wrong....we got bags of talent and Warno knows how to use them against the strengths of opposition.

It was only one game however well done two both Dan and Fitz Hall, never played together before and you would never have known.

This just goes to show that we have the squad to see us through till May.

Yes, put to bed on one performance. Glad Dan is back, but I'd have MC alongside him over the other two, any day.

              Agree.

Majority of Rangers fans would have MC ahead of Hall especially!

Shittu plays one game against a side who hardly attacked and some on here are having an orgasm!

Every home game and a few away games, so I'm well placed to judge.
Hammersmith you have been banging on about how poor you think Shittu is and how he hoofs the ball and is not fit to lace powder puffs boots but to ight my friend with big fan performances, you have been made to look a right Plum.

Shittu will start Saturday also so deal with it.
It's not just me that called for changes to the CB pairing, obviously the manager of our club who has guided us to the top of the league agrees with me... I suppose Neil is deluded too?

Shi ttu was outstanding but let's not get heated about the MC Fitz Hall situ, Fitz also had a blinder tonight didn't give the 2 Ipswich boys a sniff.

                  Delighted.

Very harsh to say Conners and Gorkks haven't played a part in our excellent defensive record.

I'm glad Shittu and Hall did well, but let's not hang the others out to dry.

I'm just glad there is healthy competition for places and it'll allow us to play accordingly against physical teams.

Hall is, and always will be an accident waiting to happen. I've seen him have 5 or 6 blinders for us, but that doesn't make up for the 50-odd shockers he's had. Credit where it's due, he was part of a CB pairing who kept a clean sheet, but even Gorkss, who I've list faith in of late has been part of a CB pairing with several of those. Funny how they can get c**ted off by some, including myself at times, but now, after one performance, we seem to think Hall is now part of the answer?

                      Do me a favour.

And hammersmith if you honestly believe that dan Shittu cares as much for millwall and Bolton as he does for us, then I suggest you speak to the lad. He loves rangers and has spent most his Playing career here , who are you to judge him??

Shittu was immense and the sad thing is that you cannot find it in yourself to admit that or admit the great decision made by Neil to drop the shaky looking pairing of a wobbly Gorrks and powder puff connoly.

You base one performance against a side who barely attacked and we were pretty poor for most of the game. A better side would have punished us. FACT.

And please don't give me all this chat about a centre back who can barely control a ball a good centre half. Look at all the top centre halves in this country. They're all good on the ball e.g. Ferdinand, Vidic, Terry, Ivanovic, Dawson etc. etc. Please don't tell me Shittu is. He is good when a team plays long. He would get murdered by teams with strikers who are clever and have movement. Gorks and Connolly both good on the ball and a massive reason why we have been so good this season. FACT

You cannot base a Shittu who was in our side in League One!

What a load of cobblers. He did his job, and so he should against a poor attacking side in Ipswich.

It's not my fault that fickle fans like you fall for the kissing badge stuff that he did at Millwall and Bolton. I am just giving you facts.

I trust Warnock to get us up, but don't give me the crap that he is better than Gorks or Connolly. They have got us to the top of the league. Not one game from Shittu. My MOTM was Hill incidentally.

Hammersmith to be fair reading this thread you are clearly not a Danny Shi ttu fan which is a little sad as he plays for our club & should be shown a little respect imo.

We've just beaten a team in red hot form, another clean sheet & yes Danny had a blinder what's their to moan about?!

Come on cheer up bruv we won & the march is on to the Prem.
