  • No SPIN - it's just this simple...

I've seen and read a few of the post kicking about from this weekend. I wasn't at the Preston game so I'll make no excuses. Seems like all the doom and gloom people are out in force.

A simple answer to all the critics would be a win tomorrow. If that happens the who cares about the result on Saturday. We can go round and round in circles saying we should beat teams like that, they are bottom of the league etc etc, but ask yourself how long have you been watching this great game for? We all know football's not black and white and funny things do happen! Do remember 4 points from every 2 games is more than enough to get promoted. We are still 5 points clear too, sod Forest and their game in had as we all see what Sc-unthorpe did to them on Wednesday night! As supporters we must still remain positive and cannot let any unrest filter onto the field tomorrow night. If we stand strong and remain as the 12th man to see the boys over the line, all will be ok!

    You R's...

Reading some of the posts this weekend has infuriated me no end. I cannot fathom why we have group of supporters who focus on the negatives constantly regardless of our position in the league. Your read Cardiffs forum they have some i.diots 'supporting' their club as well so its not just our club which is like this.

We've had one pillock on here this weekend gone focusing on our lack of goals scored over 10 mathes despite the fact that we've improved our GD by +5 and maintained a 5 point advantage over those games. Hold on a minute though because to give weight to his argument those matches included our defeat to Blackburn in the cup not our 2-0 victory against Coventry.....it is this type of attitude which really annoys me because it just demonstrates how our own supporters will go out of their way to be pessimistic to prove a point.

We are having our best season in 16 years and all of a sudden supporters think we have a divine right to automatic promotion and a glut of goals. We have not lost in 8 matches and we are now having to grind results out. We may encounter a rich vein of goal scoring form again but probably not but let that not detract from the fact that we are still amassing points whether it is a draw or a win.

Who's the pillock, the last 10 games are the last ten games. I go on facts not fiction and your the one with the attitude because you cant accept someone else's opinion which differs from yours. Everyone is happy with where we are but things are not going as well as they could.

As I said yesterday, saying we have an average of 0.9 goals per game is not negative, it is a fact and where we are going wrong and no matter how long you keep your eyes closed or no matter how much pixi dust you throw over the newspaper, it will still be the same.

Anyway, here's to a great win tomorrow and get behind the team and be the 12th man urrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs

Think the frustration is teams have obviously sussed us out and know how to play against us. Our form has been patchy since December but we have done nothing to shake things up and we are struggling, particularly in front of goal. We need to mix it and in particular stop playing just one up front the whole time.

Still plenty of positives. Effectively we have Shittu, Chimbonda and Buzz to come in. Moen, despite the negatives from Saturday, has shown promise. Don't know what the issues are but we still have Rowly and Cook as options if NW decides to use them. Would love to see Miller and Helguson given a run up front together. Can't help but think with our midfield supplying those two could cause chaos in opposition defences. Experiment a little Neil!

We talk about playing just one up front all the time as the problem but we do committ bodies forward its more about to me is getting support into the striker in the danger zone. A 4-5-1 can just as easily become a 4-3-3 which is a far more offenisve way off looking at things as well.

I actually think playing Hulse up front has been the problem, he is too static and doesn't suit the formation. David McIntrye has written a couple of good blogs about the formation Warnock plays and how when playing Helguson up front we were tending to get the ball into to feet more. I know Millers fitness is still under scrutiny but I'd have been starting Miller instead of Hulse because he is more mobile and we see this against Reading. Within the 18yrd box there does at times seem a genuine lack of support for the frontman and it requires the likes of Smith or Routledge to be taking it in turns to get in amongst it.

I think with Helguson back in the fold the goals might start coming again, Hulse needs to be demoted to 3rd choice striker it is playing him up front what makes us too predictable IMO.

Not naming names but I do find it very annoying that no one heard a peep out of some of the posters on here during our 19 games unbeaten, or when we beat pompey, coventry and reading. Oh no that would be supporting the team. Can't be doing that. Simply put, these people think we have a right to win every single game. And it shows they know nothing about QPR, because if they did, they would know this club never ever do it the easy way. It's always a roller coaster ride. Just enjoy it and stop the bloody moaning. Jeez there would be mass suicide if we had lost to Preston...

Helguson scores instead of hitting the bar with that quality header and it's a comfortable win - Preston fighting for their lives under Brown Phil show some spirit and nick a point - that's football. Most of the detracters are the same people who said at the start that we would be mid table this season. They have never quite accepted that we are punching above our weight and making a decent fist of maintaining a lead at the top.
Results like the Preston one will continue for the rest of the season for all teams fighting for promotion and against relegation so just deal with it, hold on tight, get behind the lads and trust Warnock to get us home.

                    Good.

There is nothing wrong with asking where the goals are coming from and as I said yesterday, saying we have an average of 0.9 goals per game is not negative, it is a fact and where I think we are going wrong and no matter how long you keep your eyes closed or no matter how much pixi dust you throw over the newspaper, it will still be the same.

I think we have missed chances to pull away from the pack and I think this is because of Warnocks stubbornness to change the system when it is clearly not working, but I would not change him as our Manager.

I support QPR FC and I will do when the current manager and players have sodded of to do something else, like I did when traveling the country when we were in the Premier League and in League 1.

If you think I am negative I can not change that as I think I am being realistic.

Ok - so 9 goals in the last 10, including the cup tie at Blackburn. Translates to 11 goals in the last 10 league matches - which is the relevant factor.

In that same 10 games we have conceded 6 goals.

Statistics of the last 10 league games = scored 11 conceded 6.

That is not as bad as your stats suggest - see what you can do with stats?

Ok we are not smashing the goals in but we are hardly leaking them like a dripping tap either. It will be a tough run in for every one and sooner or later we will score a few in one game and the stat will change for the better.

I read so many posts / threads from the "positive posters" after the Forest game about how we were going to beat Preston, so I hope you are right.

Exactly. I am not concerned. After the next few games a lot of the sides we have to play will nothing to play for. Teams who won't make the playoff nor get relegated - the teams you actually want to play. Out of the top lot we have the best run-in and I reckon we'll be home and dry come the Cardiff game.
