  • why the mass hysteria and panic?

after 32 games last year newcastle were five points clear of second placed forest with 66 points. We are also five points clear with 61. They went on to who the league with a total of 102 points eleven clear of second place. We're unbeaten in eight. Form is temporary as every team in this league has shown. We're five points clear at the top and have been most of this season for a reason. WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN THIS LEAGUE! The table doesn't lie unlike form tables. Enjoy the ride its the best we've been on for years! And for Christs sake support and encourage the team that has given us the best chance of Watching top flight football at loftus road for 15 odd years because you never know our support could gain us the extra odd point we need for promotion!

UNITE THE CLANS! COME ON YOU R'S!!

I think it's because a lot of people read the form table and get very hung up on it and give it more credence then the actual table to suit their argument.

Wasn't that long ago when people were saying watch out for Watford. At one point Reading, Coventry and Derby were the in-form teams. Laughable now. Now we all have to watch Hull and Leicester.

The form table will change from week to week. The real table - the one that matters - says whatever has gone on below us, we are still top.

If we maintain our current form it will give us 85 points and promotion.

Where do you get 85 points from?

we've only won 3 times in the last 10 games, do that in the next 10 games we won't even be top.

We are lucky teams around us have not gone on winning runs, the ones that have gone on winning runs have come from further behind like Forest and Leicester

We shouldn't be panicking until it comes down to having to beat Leeds last game to get promoted. Until then, we can moan and groan about lost points, but all other clubs in this league, want to be in our position.

Hope to leave the real bickering for when Rooney does a job on Gorkss or Walcott does a job on Clint Hill, then we'll have genuine reasons to panic

We will go up, warnock knows what he is doing.. Ive said all season id take 2nd now, and i still would.

We will be fine, gotta be confident cos the players are, adel has been off the boil but it'll all click again and you'll see us winning more matches im sure of it..

If we manage to seal our place with a few games to go then it will be cracking.

Not hit the hieghts of early season, where our goal average was superb, now we are scrapping wins against teams like Coventry 2-1 at home.

I am concerned because we are not playing with any conviction, but still think we will get automatically promoted just. Will even probably go down to Watford or even Leeds

are we allowed to have some mild hysteria a tiny bit of a panic up if we dont beat ipswich tuesday night?

Some good posts in here & the original poster made some great points. The only thing that's worrying me & I've heard it echoed across this message board big time since yesterday is our inability to kill teams off, we just don't look like a dangerous team going forward as we did a couple of months back.

I feel like we are chugging along watching other teams results all the time rather than just doing the business ourselves. After the Ipswich game it will be one of two things for me either I will be delighted & my faith will be restored or I will officially be sh!tting myself.

Come on R's let's finish this job off.
