Please tell me you are not working on the total goals scored and conceded.Last edited by paulmason; 21-02-2011, 02:16 PM.

Paul - you are wrong - in 2009 Chelsea and Man Utd scored the same number of goals and conceded the same amount too.
So why weren't Chelsea joint champions?
Scoring more goals and conceding fewer helps you to win championships but it doesn't decide them.
You do understand that, don't you?

Surely its about the individual results?
Right now Readings goal difference is +11 and they are 12th which is better than Norwichs +10 who are in 5th.

If you score 1 more goal than your opponent, you get three points, if you score the same amount of goals, you get 1 point and if you score fewer goals, you get no points and the team at the end of the season with the most points, wins the league.

So am I wearing rose tinted glasses maybe, if you fancy purchasing a pair they are not half bad because when I look through them the league table says we are still top of the league.

In simple terms we are still getting results be it scoring fewer goals even with a 1.1 average in our last 10 matches we have improved our goal difference by +5, we've actually managed to hit the back of the net in the previous 4 matches and 7 times in the previous 10 matches which included 2 goaless draws (we are allowed those aren't we?) and a 1-0 defeat at Norwich when we down to 10 men for half the match. I know you like to look at form over the past 10 matches (lets say league matches and forget the FA Cup game shall we) so I was wondering what points total our this same form in the league would give us till the end of the season.
I got a 86.5 we will call it 86 for your benefit.....do you think this will be a big enough total to see us promoted?
