Look at the league table. We are THE best team in the league, and have been all season.
On current form Forest are better than us(past 10 games),but over the whole season so far we have been better, but what matters now is who will be the best team from here on in

      Leeds 4-6 Preston
      Scunny 1-0 Forest
      QPR 1-3 Watford
      Wolves 2-1 Man Utd
      etc..

On paper... and judging by our two games against them - Portsmouth look a top 4 team, to me anyway.
      In reality, they are 18th.

It's ALL about the league table.

We should have won at Forest and we should have won against them at LR. The two results are a small piece of the jigsaw. We are top, with the best record over the season to date = we are better.

The inverted logic being used by some on here suggests that Scunny are better than Forest and Arsenal are better than Barca. I can only think of one example of where this logic works - Chel**** 0 Liverpool 1 = well it's obvious really?

I think what really matters, is who is better over the course of the whole season my friend. If they happen to win their other game in hand and get an extra 3 points than us from the rest of the games, they still aint cathing us are they ?

This should be the end of this debate shouldn't it? Forest may be our closest rivals (true) but our 1 to 1's were tight but Rangers were superior in both, and we are top of the League and they are playing catch up. They cannot catch us if we do our business. As is a beloved cliche of football pundits, but in this case is true - our destiny is in our own hands. Forest require others to do them favours to get us. We are the better team.

All this argument could get thrown out of the window in the play offs.
3rd place could have 10 points more then 6th place and still not go up. Unfair I know, so over the course of the season little counts as who is the better team in the play offs.

It's possible for both of these to be true:
                1. We are the better team.
                2. There's not much difference between the sides.

There's very little between 5/6 sides in this league , thats why its so close and will be right up to the end, there's no excepcional side in this league this year.
