  • Bircham And Steve Lomas?? On Adel Taraabt

on the bbc late show tonight. will be on iplayer if you missed it.
over ten minutes of chatting about and studying our superstar at the forest game on sunday.
    really good bit of telly.
the final outcome was in a nutshell that 'he tries too hard and we are over reliant on him'

Must be region dependent as down here they've been talking about Southampton for ages.

      anyone else see this?
it really was very good, and quite eye opening. nearly everyone in football thinks we are a one man team.
its not on iplayer yet, but its on virgin catch up in the south for people who have that.

Yes it was very good, especially Mark Brights comments and I hate to say it but it is only QPR message boards who dont seem to think we are a one man team.

Paul, I REALLY don't think we are a 1 man team though.
Adel has contributed VERY little to our defence which has conceeded the least goals and the most clean sheets in our division.

Derry amongst others have worked tirelessly to enable Adel to do what he does best. That's not to say other players could not have done as well, but Shaun has been inspiring this season, against many peoples fears when we signed him.

However, we do MASSIVELY rely on Taarabt. Include the goals he's created (won a penalty, or forced a keeper to save when others follow up to score - neither are officially assists !) to his goals and assists and he's behind 30 of our 50 League goals. 60% is huge for any one player.

Without him, would we be top of the Table ? NO, almost certainly not.
If he get's injured, suspended, will we miss him ? YES, unless Buzz steps up to the plate and shines or NW has a 4-4-2 backup (which I doubt as we've seen little evidence of it so far).

So a key player and the single most important individual so far this season YES, but calling us a One Man Team is insulting to a number of major contributors IMO.

          touch paper lit.....standing back.....

Tend to agree with you on this one QPR1976, believed what thier comments did show was the reason no "big" club came in for him as they would not take the risk and/or build a system around him tbh can't see anyone taking him in the summer either. Do believe we need a back up plan for when he does go missing in games

team is not built around taarabt as they make you believe, taarabt is in the front picture because he is talented and top scorer + top assists.

for those who run out of idea for plan B, if I was NW, when team have 2 or 3 man marked taarabt I would play him as a STRIKER , put him near their goalkeeper area ONLY there, let him do his magic just there , rewards at least a penalty.

More Rs bashing from the BBC not only does Claridge dislike us, it now seems this show has an axe to grind. Birch took some stick a couple of weeks ago now Brighty has jumped on the bandwagon talking like we are totally a one man team that Adel has scored half and made the other half of our goals. also says how would QPR do if the Forest player had seriously injured Taraabt? he thinks we would then struggle to do well.

They are not bashing QPR, they are saying it as many people see it. Take of your tarrabt glases and you might understand what they are saying. Our own fans think we would be mid table if he was not playing.

No doubt he's a big player for us but dont other teams have players that would mean the same for them.Bothroyd, cradle mcguigan holt. just think we would be playing a different system if he was out injured maybe 4 4 2 sure Warnock is clever enough to adapt our play
