Take nothing away from Forest a great defensive display particularly Chambers but have been thinking for last couple of months we have not looked anywhere near as dangerous. Other teams have sussed us out.
If you shut out Adel, and now Routledge, we have nothing much else to offer. Playing one up front against 10 men was lunacy. We were never going to break Forest down that way.
We are relying almost entirely on moments of magic from Adel and to a lesser extent Routledge. If that doesn't happen we have nothing left to fall back on. Therein lies the problem and maybe why Spurs let Adel go. To get the best out of him you have to build a team around him and let him do his own thing. None of the big boys will do that. Even Christiano Ronaldo had a defined role at Manure.
We lack balance as a team. We may well scrape through with Adel's moments of magic but in my view need some flexibility during games and that could be achieved by Adel taking on a more defined role for parts of games whether that be strictly on the left wing, as opposed to generally wandering around in that area, or as a proper second striker. This season has shown he can score goals with decent frequency.
From Adel's viewpoint if he showed he could work in a disciplined role within defined roles as well as doing his maverick bit he would not be looked on as a risky but tempting signing by the big boys but as a must have.
