  • Forest fans perspective of sundays game...

As they are reading here.. we can read there..

I love to see a proper opposition fan's view of the upcoming game against us.. regardless which club...

after reading that 5 page thread, alot of them seem very confident.. which is expected.. as we are confident too. a large percentage feel that taarabt is the man to stop. stop him and they will run riot..

They also have a strong claim for best fullbacks in the league.. however even tho konchesky is "premiership" i dont rate him. Gunter i do.

other fans surprisingly identified faurlin as a key player for us. but a large percentage are focussed on taarabt and if forest do stick 2 players on him then they will be playing into our hands. space becomes available for smith and routs and it will be an interesting game. some posters also feel smith and hulse are bogey players for them which is interesting considering alot on here dont rate hulse at all.

on the flip side.. my view on their team is that if they are playing ON SONG and are firing on all cylinders then yes they will be tough to beat. camp is a great shot stopper, gunter is a very very good rb at this level.. not to mention their attack.. tudgay, earnshaw and adebola all seem to love playing against us.

overall its going to be a cracking game.. we know our lineup and formation.. what i think will dictate the game is what formation and players forest use. if they go 4-4-2 then id expect our flair players to find space and just create havoc. however should they opt to play a carbon copy formation as we do.. they i can see the game being quite nullified.

only way i see them beating us is if they do a watford and their midfielders and forwards constantly over-run derry, faurlin, gorkks and connolly.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
    Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

What's that, kick towards their own fans in the first half, It was a one off at LR and that surely played with the players minds.

stands out as match of the day and championship game of the season so far, what ever the result there is still a long way to go with more twists and turns to come
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

dont buy the whole kicking to their fans first half as a reason they won.

there was space to exploit and they did so and some.

it will take an energetic midfield like watfords.. to beat us. im not sure forest have that sort of midfield where players will just run and run to find space.

I'm not saying it was a reason they won, it's just that psychologically it must have had some impact and they used it to their advantage, i totally agree they were the better team, but put yourself in the position, i know how i would feel.

Anyway been done now and i'm sure Neil also pointed it out to them that if it ever does happen again to ignore it.

I am certainly not getting over excited by this game, win or lose this one dosen't determine the championship winners or even who goes up,lots of twists and turns yet and probably **** ups for both teams against so called lower opposition,we have the points on the board but things change so long way to go yet !!!!!!

I really think defeating Forest will knock the momentum out of them. I don't buy into their 'we are traditionally slow starters' rubbish; QPR are traditionally useless away from home but this season says different. They are on a great run no doubt about that but we have consistency this term on our side, lets see how they react to defeat on Sunday.

                    Three points:

                    1) Don't think their manager will be as naive as their fans in thinking "stop Tabs and you stop Rangers". Anyone who has watched us will be aware that putting too many men on Tabs leaves space for our other attacking players who are also pretty lethal. But what Forest do about it is still a problem for them because if they give Tabs too much space he could murder them.

                    2) Don't think Forest have quite earned the right to view this as a battle of equals. We are still seven points clear with a massive goal advantage. They have only been out of the third tier for two minutes and their two games in hand are both away. Tudgay, Adebola, etc - so what? Solid Championship trundlers. Earnshaw is the only attacking player of theirs I'd quite like, but like Lita he has never really settled or fulfilled his undoubted potential. And Forest have, as Sir Pie has pointed out, some much more difficult games coming up than us.

                    3) Actually quite like Forest as they always played the right way and both our clubs had their glory period in the same era (our's never reached their heights but arguably continued longer and with greater flair). However, do think they are getting a bit big for their boots and whilst I'm normally very cautious about predictions I'm curiously confident of a handsome victory. I'll probably be made to feel a real mug but I just feel we are going to really thump them Sunday.

definitely think they should be fearing us and am pretty sure their players will be feeling nervy come kick off time. We are the runaway leaders and have been top pretty much all season, they are the form team but have yet to play a top side on their unbeaten run. Back to earth with a bump come Sunday Afternoon for their fans i reckon.

SiaL - Agree with al of that. Including your prediction. If I dissent slightly it is with assertion rest of our "attacking players are pretty lethal" but we shall see.

Gunter will be put on Adel. Man marking. Betcha. Decent player may have Adel's card marked. Interesting encounter. Adel will need to stray over both sides to pull him out.

Adel will play across the pitch I don't expect him to hold the Left Wing at all, I can see us trying to bring Routldege into the game as much as possible if they try take Adel out. Maybe Warnock will get Derry to give Gunter a kick early doors to let him know he is there. I really expect Adel to step up to the mantle on Sunday and put in an awe inspiring performance, absolute faith in the lad.

I've always liked Forest and would like to see them go back up, however it's a tough game of them, playing at LR and have to get past the No.1 keeper Kenny.

My tip for Forest is that they better watch both Taarabt and Routledge.
