  • Could Burnley hold the key?

They sit 6 points off Leeds but with a game in hand so there is still a definite chance they could make the play offs but to do so they will have to win some pretty tough matches. But being that close to the play off places means that unlike some of the mid table teams they'll be fighting tooth and nail to make something of this season. Having just shown they can't beat a side like Norwich I believe their results against our closest rivals could make a real difference to the outcome of the final league placings.

Key games involving Burnley still to be played (Home games in RED)

    versus Nottingham Forest
    versus Cardiff City
    versus Cardiff City
    versus Swansea
    versus Leeds
    versus Millwall
    versus Leicester
    versus Watford

That isn't a mistake, Burnley do have to play Cardiff both home and away. Big test for Howe, big test for Charlie Austin and a big test for the club who after relegation last season would have expected a play off spot.

The point is that Burnley will and should take points off these teams.

It's not about whether Burnley will make the play offs its that they have to play our rivals so could their results make the difference for us?

They've already beaten Forest and Norwich so if they get results against the others this will help us.

They have got to play Cardiff, us, Forest and Reading away, and Norwich at home.
Can't see them taking 15 points out of that lot.

                    *Ahem!

So beat Watford, beat Norwich, beat Forest and now a draw against Cardiff. They indeed could hold the key!

Indeed Burnley are proving VERY useful.
And wIth Leicester, Swansea, Forest, Leeds & Cardiff still to play from April onwards. They could indeed be key to our dreams.

GTP is correct Leicester are the current in form team (With Forest) but we still have to play them, whilst we've played Burnley twice already, so let them rise, like a phoenix from the flames and scorch our rivals ambitions.

It was a well deserved draw too, according to the match reports.
