  • Sporting Lisbon eying a summer swoop for Taarabt

Sporting Lisbon are reportedly eying a summer swoop for QPR midfield maestro Adel Taarabt .

According to Portuguese sources, Sporting have been following the Moroccan for some time, and with great interest.

The 21-year-old former Tottenham player has been a sensation for the Championship leaders in their promotion push this season, and has apparently also sparked interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

He has scored 14 goals and set up 10 this term, giving him a staggering efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 99.63 minutes.

Bored of it now. If he goes he goes. If he helps us get to the PL he will leave with my best wishes.

Windows shut. No need to worry now until the summer.

He'll go to a bigger side than that if he goes TBH.

Wouldn't playing in Poturgal be like playing in Holland in terms of competitiveness of league football, would be a massive step backwards from the Premier League or La Liga.

Hugely overrated league. Just a warmer version of the SPL. Barca, Madrid then absolutely nothing.

Nowhere near as technical, tough or unpredictable as the PL, Bundesliga or Serie A.

Because Messi and Ronaldo play there doesn't make the league good nor competitive.

Just like Scotland, the league is decided when the top two play each other. Just do that and get it over with. No point in pretending there is a competitive element elsewhere.

                  Agree Nodge.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

All of that is true, but balance that out with a warmer climate, a better Lifestyle, no need to bust a gut every week out and probably more money.

                      Less Tax too.
Bit hasrh Nodge, ruling out sides like Valencia, Sevilla, Athletico Madrid.. All class CL sides.
Only Chelsea or Man U won PL for seasons oo, with odd arsenal win.

Just like the PL - aka ManU and Chelsea over the last decade or more.

Sorry Nodge, don't agree with you for a change - La Liga is far more technical than the Prem. I used to live in Spain and still watch a lot of Spanish football. The teams lower down the league are far more skillful than Blackpool, Wigan and co. We have too many Big Sam style managers still.

The only problem with the League now is that the big two are really pulling away, which is what will happen here with the financial fair play stuff around the corner...individual club TV deals.

Nodge that was a stupid comment. La Liga has plenty of talent and to think its like the SPL in terms of standard of football (minus the big two) is hilarious. Clearly you don't watch much Spanish football or you quite simply don't have a clue about football.

Calling Valencia a "class" CL side, is akin to calling Leeds a class CL side! Twice finalists, nothing since 2001.

Can't remember the last time Sevilla or Atletico have been past the group stages, in fact I don't think Atletico have ever been past the group stages.

Fed up with media knocking one off the wrist about how great Spanish domestic football is. It isn't. Outside of Barca and Real (how many Spanish players in the Real side - Casillas aside- ?) and possibly Sevilla, it's a two bob league. The English and Italian bottom half sides would wipe the floor against the likes of Heracles, Levante, Santander and Getafe.
