  • What Ex Players Would Come Out Of The Woodwork?

We've read about Ray Wilkins, who I have not seen talk about QPR for years.

Which player is the top of your list, that will suddenly declare his underlying love for the club?

    I'm going David Seaman

      Rodney.

To be fair, he genuinely cares about QPR, and can do/say whatever he wants in my book.

As a player, He was basically Adel Taarabt in a blonde wig.

RW was on Goals on Sunday a few weeks ago and spoke highly of us then. When he was working for the **** he probably didn't get asked about us as the reporters would have been on about them and the PL.

Every ex player will as there will be cash involved.

Earlier in the week Talk Sport introduced Trevor Sinclair as ex Blackpool, West Ham and Man City, even though he played his best footie and scored goal of the millennium at W12 when they were in the Premier League.

Sir Les will be here, there and every where!

The likes of Clive Allen, Frank McClintock & Gavin Peacock will resurface as Rangers fans

Sir les for sure. Probably stab bowles and Rodney marsh. Gallen maybe. I know he didn't play for us but Dennis wise is apparently a QPR fan. He might say something nice.

Big Frank McLintock always has good things to say about Rangers and how much he enjoyed playing for us,So wouldn't say he would crawl out of the woodwork

To be fair, Wilkins has often spoken about us very fondly since he's left. Not really his fault the type of questions put to him don't involve QPR at all. McLintock too. And despite how shoddily John Hollins was treated by Blackburn and Davies, he never has a bad word to say about us.

That's the crux of it - if we get back to the Premier League, we will become a talking point again - that means our high profile ex players and managers, such as Seaman, Ferdinand, Clive Allen, even Holloway - will be asked about us. To an extent it's already started with Alan Brazil (6 games and 1 goal) bigging us up.

It's the way the media works, not anyone deliberately denigrating us in the past.

Bit of an unfair question. For instance, there's not a single article in the sports pages of today's Sun (NW edition) about tonight's game - no mention anywhere except the general list of fixtures. Any TV prem game would have some sort of article cum advertisement about the game. Basically, there's little media interest, no need for any "talking heads" or rent-a-quote ex-players. However, everything is ratcheted up a thousand-fold in the prem with all the media scrumming to get quotes, angles, insights..... can't blame the ex-players for taking a few quid for spouting a few minutes of blah blah blah to a hungry journo?
