As we all know boys, theres a good chance of gaining promotion this season. I was just wondering if any of you knew if it was possible to add an vertical extension to the stadium, or do you reckon the stadiums too small, with no space surrounding our perimeter. The reason why I'm asking is because I actually love loftus road with all its tradition, as opposed to the heartless new stadiums. In all honesty I doubt us buying a new stadium unless we got promoted and stayed up for 3-4+ years, however is an extension possible??

Or we can go all out and rip the chairs away and everyone stands, like the good old days.

Surveyors have confirmed (a few times I believe) extensions up down or back are not possible, even those technically possibly fail a VFM test or else are mandatorily impossible due to planning restrictions. I happen to know ( as much as you ever know anything looking in on Rangers) that a consultation paper on a move was submitted to the Board and (I am told) approved in principle some little while ago but it has never seen the light of day. Last I heard this hold up was just a "when is a good time " moment for the spin side to sort. Perhaps that remains the case. Maybe they are now waiting to see if we go up and punt it out then. But I am pretty sure the option of staying at LR is all but out the window

I just can't understand our supporters obsession with expanding and moving ground. We can't even fill LR as it is and we are sitting top of the league. Its only the deluded who thinks we will fill a 25k stadium week in week out.

I love our ground I can't wait to hear Premier League fans moan about lack of leg room, seats covered in the same bird s.hit from 1996 and crap facilities.

The question needs to be asked do we want a bigger ground to accommodate away fans? Because if its the home fans we are worried about then just take back one of the tiers in the School End because our ground is big enough for us for the foreseeable future regardless of what league we are in.

Exactly do things the Rangers way, shrewd transfer dealings (ala Warnock), cramp atmospheric ground, bring players through the youth system (hopefully) and financially stay in the black.

Of course I agree with that but if we do go up and stay up there is only one way the economics point. Tickets will be eye-wateringly expensive and you will probably still struggle to get one for decent games. Boutique football without the leg room

Having looked at Wigan Athletics home attendances they are only 13-18k and they have been in the PL what 4 years now.

Truth is probably a bit of both. Since we are where we are we will have to be here for a while yet. Wherever we were to go will probably (hopefully - lets not go ground-share) be a new-build so it will take 2/3 years minimum to sort. That is the gamble for the Board of course and they need to assess the return they will get pn the investment and crucially when. That doubt and recalculation will be what is holding up the next step being announced now I reckon.

They do not go in hand in hand at all we do not need a bigger ground to establish ourselves in the Premier League its on the pitch we will do that. A few extra thousand fans a week will not make a big difference financially. Do fans actually consider the ramifications of building a new ground for instance...off course not its all about keeping up appearances half the time.

Improve existing facilities and reopen the case for expansion by all means but leave it there and instead invest wisely in youth, training facilities and players.

If the club charge £30 a ticket we'll end up with 14/15k but reduce the price £15/20 and it could be a full house each game.
