  • Reading. Shane Long Out?

Just watched Brian Mcdermott interview and he says Shane Long was taken off last night against Cardiff with a hip injury after a clash & is being assessed ahead of the QPR game.

Imo this would be brilliant for us as he has been in electric form of late. Mix this with the fact Legsofwood cannot feature, another player who has been brilliant for them and I feel this game is their for the taking.

Who would replace Long & what are your opinions?

i think it doesnt matter who they play. it matters how we play.. i mean we played rubbish yesterday in comparison to other games.. but still got the 3pts. we need to be able to do that away from home aswell.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
    Lovejoy: "No?!"

Agreed Gax but I'd rather play a team without their best goal scorer wouldn't you?

Norwich had a lot of 1st choice players missing and beat QPR quite comfortably, even though it was only 1-0.

I hope QPR don't get beat by complancey again.

Shane long being out is a massive plus for us, i dont actually rate him that much but he has a nack of being in the right place at the right time.. Hit some good form of late..

There main danger man is kebe, or however you spell it.. He has pace to burn and has a leathal shot on him.
Cant believe it, ive been PWOPER MUGGED ORF...

whats good for us is we're taking out their engine(legs) he clearly puts himself about and i doubt theres many people who work as hard as legs does.

however on the flip side they'd be playing in hoops and we wouldnt. so legs would NATURALLY be passing to the opposition.. which would be us..

I saw this last night that he had been subbed early on and it must be great news for us, just as Cardiffs equaliser was last night to deflate them a little !

Not a very ground for us but I really feel we can turn these over this time around. And having 2 of their best players out can only be a bonus.

Gotta keep in mind though that Long has not been officially ruled out as yet.

As much as Long being out is good news as reading get lucky and Long scores when they don't deserve a goal.

I think we should very much focus on ourselfs, if QPR perform they are the best in the league, factamongo
                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Your right mate if we play the way we all know we can play we can beat any team in this division. I just hope we turn up on Friday & do ourselves justice.

Very good player. I reckon they'll beat us...cant see our slow back 4 dealing with the pace of mcanuff, kebe and long (if he plays)

We seem to have settled for just getting draws from away games - dunno if it's our intentional game-plan but it does look that way. Bit worrying as sometimes the opposition are there for the taking. Ultimately I'd be happy with a point especially if we'd actually tried for 3pts.
