If you ever show your kids a replay of tonight's game against Portsmouth, then we'd like to suggest you avoid the first 46 minutes - it wasn't for kids....unless they love rugby!
The second half, we came on strong and started to play football. The midfield started to get things finally going - passing the ball nicely.
Taarabt scored first - with a goal that was gratefully received, if fortunate. He shot from around 25 yards out, and the Portsmouth keeper (shall we call him Dave Beasant for want of a better word?)- finally was able to spill the ball into his own net.
The second goal was smarter, with Taarabt again being the provider, curling a delicious corner onto the head of Clint Hill.
After that, Portsmouth started to play up - as their noisy fans sung lustily - and Paddy Kenny pulled off two excellent saves to keep our goal difference healthy and us all happy.
