  • QPR V West Ham...Little club, big club?

Says in the press today that west ham are taking less than 4000 fans up to Birmingham for the Carling Cup semi final second leg.
Thats seems a terribly low amount to me, so a serious question here, if we were in the same position, 2-1 up on aggregate and 90 minutes away from a Wembley appearance, how many of us do you honestly reckon would go up there for this game?

If that figure is true, then it is low by their standards.

West Ham are a bigger club than us, sad but true.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

It doesn't change the fact that they are a bigger club, mate.

I reckon we'd take more or less the same.

          Mid-week
          Toughest month of the year
          Poor weather
          Only Birmingham
          On TV

          Plenty of factors.

We could barely get 75% full this weekend, and we're top of the league.

no thats just how many are going.
ipswich had 9000 at highbury last night.

i reckon 6 to 7000 rangers would be there tonight.

That's Arsenal. It's also an hour and a half train ride each way.

Not even close to the same.

              We took 8000 to Manure.

              Only 3000 to Villa.

              I was there for both.

west ham to birmingham cant be no more than an hour and half can it?
and its only up the road for us rangers, hence we would take more imo.

what man u and villa games you on about benny, both semi finals? (memorys shot)

think benny's on about fa cup year before last-knocked villa out and then drew man u.

semi final is massive tho, and we love to travel en masse to big games.
still reckon we would of took nearly double west ham are taking.
oh and i wasnt asking are west ham a bigger club than us, thats obvious, it was part of the title, meaning our little club crowd versus their big club crowd for such an important game as tonight.

                          Indeed.

Ok, not quite the semi's, but it's the same type of game. If it was a 'big' club, they'd have travelled, but it's not. Put that against the fact that they play these 'bigger' teams on a regular basis, it kind of takes the glory away.

I would be surprised if we took more than the 4,000 they are taking. In fact, I doubt we'd even take that. I certainly wouldn't take 2 days off work in the current climate. Money is tight, and everyone is looking to save.

2 years agaon, I'd have been up for it, as I was with all mid-week away games.

oh and i also reckon more would go for the sheer fact we were in front on aggregate and there is a massive chance of going through against a side who are beatable (or drawable against to still make the final) to be there when the final whistle goes and knowing there is a trip to wembley in the bag.
dont think the glamour of playing one of the big four would make much difference, the thought of winning would tho.
