    Connors, that's nonsense!

Rodney spent several seasons outside the top flight.

Adel has the arrogance...if he can find a soupcon of the charisma of Stan and Rodney, then we could crown him as a Rangers legend.

Hoopla, i agree that he is amazing but he needs a manager that will make him tick. If he leaves us I would not be surprised to see him loaned back within six months. Great for us mind.

Technically better than Marsh or Bowles, especially taking into account the game being faster and more cynical nowadays.
Neither of them were particularly team players either -- they got the ball and either they did something special or they didn't.
But you remember legends for all the times they did.
AT is really, really special -- we are lucky to have him, even though his time with us is already running out.
Faurlin is my hero!!! Love him!!! #########

Watch there first touches on the bobbly pitches they used to play on, Stan was superb at taking the ball in his stride and running with it with the ball kicking up at his shins, also Bowles used to take some fearful punishment and still carry on and dribble through teams or pass his way through.

Let's not forget Adel is only 21 !

An age of great confidence and petulance in any walk of life, but as a Professional footballer with 10, 13, or 16k adoring fans watching your perform whilst being paid 20k a week.

Hopefully, NW and natural maturity will work the moody side out of him in time. Some support on the pitch as well as off the pitch will help.

Until then, the plus sides will continue to far outway the negative sides.

He is improving slowly but surely.

He hasn't thrown his hands in the air at the crowd for a while.
                He chases back occasionally.
He passes more. Now he has a better standard of players around him.
He's not thrown his shirt to the ground or at anyone when substituted recently.
He's not asked to be subbed for a long while.
His shooting has improved, he used to get 1 in 6 on target, now he forces more saves for the keeper.
I think he even tackled someone recently ?

His petulance and confidence should be nutured, not curtailed.
                In Neil we trust.

Reminds me so much of Wegerly ,except he passed more, way too early to put him in the same bracket of Bowles or Francis or Marsh, but the best player we have had since Sir Les

its a age thing, but let me tell you, Rodney was out for 3 months in 68 when we were in the top flight, 300 went to Plymouth to a reserve game to see the messiah return, would you do the same today?
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

Bowles and Marsh were legends and did it at the highest level. No doubting that Adel is special and expect him to surpass those two eventually. At the moment he is a big fish in a small pond and still needs to develop his all round game. Too early to compare but certainly has the potential to be an all time great.

Would I and 299 other travel to Plymouth to see Adel return after a 3 month injury layoff ?

I hope I never have to, would rather he stay fit.....

But chances are Sky would move the game to a Sunday lunchtime, so Yes, and make a weekend of it......nice place Devon.

                        People had more money then.
                        And more options today.
Plus our Average Home attendance was higher then.
And we'd won THE Double the year before. Not won anything for 6 years now.
Including an FA Cup match !

All contributing factors. (except the FA Cup bit)

thread says 'most skillfull', not whos the best ever rangers player.
and there is no way stan, rodney, currie or wegerle would of got a whole soccer am skills section like adel did a couple of weeks ago, and none of them could of done that nutmeg and score from where he did like adel did either imho.

Sorry but Rodders made his return after injury in a reserve game
                            at Southend.

Adel probably the more skilfull but a close call.

Rodders is the best player in a rangers shirt ever in my opinion.
Other than when George Best played in Alan Mcdonalds testimonial.

Getting back to Adel,i wonder how he would have coped with say
Norman Hunter,Ron Harris,Tommy Smith etc.I wonder how he would
have coped with heavy pitches, not the surfaces they play on today.
I wonder how he would have coped with the much heavier ball, the
                            footwear etc.

We will never know, very hard to compare as different rules, mainly
                            tackling from behind.

At present Marsh and Bowles much better team players but Adel is only
young and can only get better

Taarabt most skilful I've seen, behind him Roy wegerley. Too young to remember marsh etc. By the way pete was right to put Ferdinand in his list. Probably the most skill with the use of the head I've seen in football
