It's almost impossible to say.
Taking aside the length of their tenure and achievements with QPR, Marsh & Bowles played in an era completely different to today's game.

Pace, Fitness, Tactics, Rules, Tackling, Kit (boots & balls) etc. make today's game a far different proposition.

Tricks and showboating wise, both would have more than held their own in their day, but neither would hold a candle to some of the little upstarts on Skills School or from South America.

Also both played in VERY good sides with a high level of talent throughout the team. Bowles in '76 for example had 5 other Full England Internationals alongside him. a couple of Scots (OK, point taken !)

Currie, Stainrod & Byrne equally difficult to compare.

Wegerle possibly less so and probably the one that would come closest to Adel skill wise.
Buzsaky is comparable. Personally, I think Taarabt is better, and I say that as someone who loves Buzz too.

Techincally the best player we've ever had.. Okay not old enough to see Marsh and Bowles was a great team player, never saw him live during that 75-76 and Europe year, but he must have been one hell of a player if he is techincally better.

As for being legend, in years to come, what he does in the future will decide that.

I would put Roy Wegerle, Ray Wilkins, Trevor Francis, Tony Currie and Ian Stewart into the list also and would add that those guys played in the top division of English footballer.

I would actually say that Adel will never reach the level that his talent so deserves. I say that as I believe his temperament will get in the way. there was a twenty minute spell in the first half yesterday (just before he scored) where he did not want to know. I am not sure he can shake that side of his personality off.

Would be a massive shame if he cant.

First up, no need to be rude. I will happily answer your question.


I say it because he is yet to prove it at Premiership level and i say it because i have seen players do a job on him. People like Robbie Savage.

He will never get as much space in the Premiership as he does in the CHampionship. The standard is so much higher. Look at a Tottenham reserve walk into our team.

Ability wise he will easily has the ability but manager's will not accept him strutting around the pitch.

As much as i love watching the guy, his attitude for about 20 mins yday was embarressing. An absolute amazing talent but his temperament seriously hinders performances on occasions.
