  • Should Be A Season to Remember

With the chasing pack closing up, it was important that this transfer window showed some intent.

Its obvious that we were never going to spend the millions, but the fact we are top of the Championship mean't we would have rich pickings on some of the better premiership fringe players.

We can all be the football expert and say others would have suited, but its pretty obvious that Warnock has very much got the players he wanted.

Okay, its fair to say that Chimbonda and Miller were not the first names on peoples lips, but they fit perfectly into a proven system that has worked so well this season.

In Chimbonda, you have a pacy right back who can get forward and track back with pace and Miller has all the attributes of very good striker. He may not be the most subtle with the ball, he is a powerhouse that will give central defenders a really hard time and with attacking flair like Taarabt/ routledge we surely have a winning combination.

The players discussed that never came, some were very good players but would not fit into the Warnock style of play. I often read we need a PLAN B, well during a game we work on several plans. Opposing defenders should be in for torrid time in the coming months, no-one will fancy the likes of Tarbs, Routledge, Miller and Smith coming at them.

It all needs to gel pretty quickly and I think it well. Good players are able to adapt. I was not too concerned when Routledge left first time around, as our season was falling to pieces in front of our eyes, this season under Warnock totally different ball game.

Finally the board, have given Warnock all the ammuntion he wanted, its time for the supporters to unite and get behind the team. We have 20 FA Cup finals, we need to win 12 of them with a few draws thrown in for good measure and then its time to worry about what awaits us in the premiership.

Competition all over the park now. Chimbonda and routledge add real premiership quality. Big dan a v gd reserve centre half. We'll have a really strong bench at last. My one reservation is miller - is he going to be fit and in form for any of these fa cup finals, and if so when?

Re the plan b, not sure I agree. Warno is great at his half time team talks but seems less capable of changing a game in the 70th/80th minute. Partly that's because he's had so few attacking options on his bench.

Will miller change games? I'm doubtful but hope he can. Having looked at mccarthy's scoring record today I'd feel v confident if we cd ship out some dead wood and bring him in.
